So, we have the 2002 was a shitty year thread - but what was everyone's favorite part of 2002? Mine are (d'uh) seeing Frank, seeing Elvis Costello (twice), going to see Paul McCartney with my mom who is a huge fan, hanging with all my friends, getting a new job and meeting all of you guys. Happy 2003!

| Hey, hon, I was getting around to it! My favorites for this year were taking my kid to see the spectacle of the House on the Rock in Dodgville, WI (anybody ever been? Words cannot describe!), 2 FB&TC shows, the offer of a teaching gig at my alma mater (totally unexpected!), a Pere Ubu gig at my alma mater (even more amazing!), the medical miracle of the vasectomy, the technological wonder that is TiVo (even though it's a little creepy), and finding all you lovely folk. |

| THe Frank CDs, Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express live, Anti-Landmine concert, John Prine live. Personally the best thing was my daughter's tonsillectomy - she has now been healthy for months (before the op she was sick every month). |

the best part was listening to the queens of the stone age cd, and seeing these fuckers put on a kick ass live show.
seeing frank at the horseshoe was cool (for two shows), but fuck me the QOTSA are what's what. |

Many fondnesses of this year. Main ones being meeting Kim & Kelley Deal and David Lovering.
Plus having conversed with Tanya Donelly over the web; to actually have a conversation with her from the stage was pretty amazing.
On a personal note lots of positive people have entered my life this year, I've had some great short-term friendships and I think the fact that I've been able to accept people on their terms without judging about them or their choices and still move on with my life, marks a huge step forward. I finally took full control of my own happiness and quit my job that was making me miserable, I've told bloke exactly what I think of his recent behaviour & how to change for the better. I made it certain that my family are under no illusions about where they stand with me and after years of mental depreciation from all of the above it feels great to be in control!
Fave 2002 mmoment was moving in with bloke. The first two months were blissful - sadly it all turned out to be just an act...
