hello there

any thoughts on FB singing on gordon gano's new album? the track is called run and its a hum dinger a la the ramones. kinda makes me think that the pixies would sound like that if they were around today.
agree?

be good
Barry

Check www.cookingvinyl.com, you can listen to the song in RealAudio.

I read in the new cooking vinyl news letter that Frank tries to sounds just like Gordon Gano, but when I hear it, it just sounds like Frank Black or maybe more like Black Francis. Was Gano ever such a sreamer? (I only know the Femmes debut...)

kinda still think that it sounds like what BF would be like today (IMHO) instead of the more mature FB - who still can yell (hermaphroditos springs to mind - or the amazing version of six sixty six he plays live these days. lordy!). love the track. the rest of the album is great too - gordon gano still has it. i also remember FB saying (somewhere!) that early pixies stuff was based on sounding a little like them (violent femmes) - as well as the more obvious examples (like husker du). anyway - nice for him to be included along with other greats like lou reed and john cale. rock on FB.

cheers
Barry
