I know, man. My mom worked for UCSC for awhile. Used to go to the Boardwalk quite a bit. The Giant Dipper is still as fun for me as it was when I was a small boy. My favorite movie stuff there is in Sudden Impact or Magnum Force (whichever it was) with Clint shooting bad guys looking lean. Me likey.

i wouldn't say i'm a hippie, but i'm definitely a lesbian.
yeah, it's true that that does describe a lot of the student body there.. at least the lesbian part. hippies?.. i don't know, there are definitely plenty of wannabe neo-"hippie" kids.. like, girls who wear ethnic dresses over jeans (am i the only one who finds that intensly annoying?), with burkenstocks / beaded purses etc.. but the majority of the student body is actually just rich white kids from the suburbs.
there are still a lot of old school 60's people in the town though.. in among the runaway heroin addict punk kids and upcoming young yuppie culture.
santa cruz is an interesting mix of people.. and yeah, the boardwalk is still groovy.

I used to have a drinking problem - average consumption was 2 bottles of wine & some vodka to finish.
Per day.
I stopped drinking when I ended up spending some time in the company of men in white coats.
They were honest with me and offered the view that either I quit and exchange wild turkey for the cold kind or I could carry on and I'd be back to see them for more unpleasantness.*
For this reason I'd recommend cutting down to anyone.

Drinking problems...What drinking problems? I do not know about you guys but I will not have a problem drinking tomorrow night
They say if you have 3 or more drinks a week that you may be a drunk. What if you have 12+ drinks once a month ... lol
