Just more of the same frank at the Gypsey tea room in Dallas. No bass in the band. Just EDF, Dave and the roommate + FB. FB promised to be back in Big D in March or so. He better mean it.
It was a great show. Nobody does it better. I have seen CKT3 in all his forms and this show was right in line. For the love of God I actually got to hear Cactus, Freedom Rock, Mr Grieves, Monkey, etc.. all in a FBATC's show.
I love to hear the novelty of the random pixies song, and enjoyed every song he played, but, the fact is there are too many great FB songs to play to spend too much time on the pixies. Believe me, the Pixies changed my life, but, FB is now. I would rather hear sufferin' than the grieves for example. Monkey makes us all feel 1989 again, so, how can you argue that? IN fact, I wont argue anything. I just enjoy.
I actually heard Sir Rockabye live tonight. Now, I love that song. And I have actually sung/asked my daughter "how many stars, girl can you both count, and then classify?" But, if CKT3 let me draw up the set list, I would over look it. What a treat.
that gets me to the children complaining that FB isnt friendly enough for them. FOr the Love of GOD, the man has produced more great music in the last 4 years than any musician on the face of the earth. Period. Pray tell, is that not enough??? Frank suffers no fools. When he pulled the plug out of the mike tonight, it wasnt intended as an affront, it is life smacknig you in the face. There is a bus waiting, there are clowns just like you putting themselves to sleep with the image of CKT3 howling in their faces that deserve a well rested demigod just as much as you do. So pull yourself up by the bootstraps and go thank JC Superstar that the man called Black just ambled through Chip Away so that you can keep it between the ditches on the ride home.
Otherwise, go do your homework and leave the adult rock to the adults.
This is my first post to this forum that I found earlier today. Its great that there is a place for FB fans to commiserate. Thanks to those responsible. |

That message is embarrassing. I was under the influence of franks music among other things.
Anyway, the show was in the small room of the Gypsy Tea Room. My guess is it holds about 300-400 people. The bar was completely packed, no room to mill around. Adv tix with all the charges were 16.50, believe the door price was $18. The sound in there is a bit better than average. FB said he would be back in March with the Catholics, so, maybe you can make the trip then. |

Hopefully he'll visit us all in March! And no need to be embarrassed, I think people here understand the appeal and allure of Frank better than anyone.
