For MIRV, he obviously has some issues, and that's fine. He's posting here to get attention, and usually negative. I think that's fine too.
The worst thing you can do to him is ignore him. Let him post. As long as even one person acknowledges his existence, he's gonna keep posting.
It's really that simple.
I'm more inclined to delete the posts from people asking him to be removed, than to censor MIRV's postings. Those messages, to me anyway, are more annoying than what he writes, especially when he gets 5-10 messages in response to his one. He's won already.
Has anyone actually asked him what his problem is, in a non-accusatory fashion? Maybe the guy doesn't have enough $$ for food. Maybe he's some kid with neglectful or abusive parents. He's a person, just like you or me, and seems unable to deal with whatever shit life has dealt him. That's no excuse to rain on his parade, but more negative feedback is prolly the last thing this guy needs.

i think you guys may be coming down a little too harshly for the razorblade thing its completely uncalled for sure, and from what i understand he has caused similar uproar before, but hes just a little compulsive. for future instances, controversial posts by him or other people should be just removed quietly as to not be blown out of proportion. banning him woudl be even worse cause its not like he couldnt just make a new name and he is of some value, the bass article was funny atleast.

Didn't really like the razor thing either and agree with Zan that might be the type thing to get this community booted off the air... regardless of the humour behind that post it simply is bad PR...especially for those like Frank and the Band who obviously read our endless bantering...it was a pretty weird thing to put up. Also now feel a bit bad about the worst Frank song I just started...I had no idea there was this type of drama going on here...

Sorry Dave, I might not have phrased my message in the best possible way. I don't think there is anyway to legally "boot" the site off the air but the interactive qualities of the site might be compromised but the type of humour associated with said posting.
After looking around the site, I am getting use to the humour associated with the individual who made the controversal post. In looking at the way he presents himself I don't for a second think he advocates the message which he included with the picture. Nevertheless, the message could be take at face value (with out knowing the "quirky nature of the poster) by someone visiting the site and their view of the fans (their fans the case may well be) could be seriously skewed. Again it is bad PR and generally a message which I don't agree with and to be Frank (no pun intended) it might be the type of thing which turns Frank and the Band off reading and posting on the site simply because of some insensitive content.
Zanni seemed to think this type of thing was bad for the site and I was agreeing with her. I suppose that is the point I was getting at... |

Theory 2 (I'm tired of trying that voice): He is upset over being named after a really bad wannabe singer/performer/MC type-guy who was huge and then went kaput in the 80s. Kind of in the same way as that Sue character that Johnny Cash used to sing about. Having the wrong name can really screw up your life.
But I am in the troop that says the razor thing was not a huge deal. Other than that it could seem really bad out of its context to passers-by. But we should pay attention, as it might be fairly construed as a subconscious plea for help. Maybe?

Let's all calm down and realize that not all people have 'mature' senses of humor (or a sense of humor, for that matter). Some are dark, some are perverted, some are childish, some are witty, etc.. etc.. But to get all self-righteous over this dark joke is kind of silly. This site needs to chill out, and not take itself so seriously... I mean, common, where are the laughs? i am going to go with holzgrafe. without getting all upset and stuff - i have worked in vocational centres before with people suffering from manic depression and schizophrenia - and when you listen to them talking about suicide it really really hits home. anyone who has done similar work will know what i mean. please take this post off the site - its depressing and has just clearly upset everyone - myself included. sorry to be so melodramatic.

I'm not gonna censor the site, plain and simple.
If MIRV wants to change his posting, he can edit it and make it something else.
Who knows, maybe he was talking about Frank's eyebrows.
By talking about it so much, you're only empowering it and drawing more attention to it.
Suicide is real (and an option i think people should have available to them, imo.) It's a serious issue, indeed, but anyone who is put off Frank Black and this message board because of ONE MESSAGE needs to get their head checked, and i don't care if they don't post here, stop listening to FB&TC, AND commit suicide.
Let it go, and let's get on with something important..sheesh.. This is taking up too much of everyone's time as it is. |

| I think itŐs a good idea (albeit a little corny, but hey, FrankŐs corny) to collectively get Frank something...but I donŐt see it happening. Too much red tape. Why not just send Frank something independtly. I believe if you send it to his record company and put c/o Frank Black itŐll reach him. At least thatŐs what I did several weeks back. Sent him a copy of one of my stories--since he indirectly inpired me to start writing. Who knows if heŐll even keep it, let alone read, but hey itŐs the gesture that counts, a payback of sorts. And how could the man not appreciate that. |

I don't think the posting should go anywhere and I don't think the postings people place here should be censored by the authorities -ladies and gentlemenMr. Dave Noisy. Perhaps individuals should be mature enough to censor themselves.
On the whole, I think this mught have blown up into something silly -no question I contributed to this- but again the oppions of various people who participate in the site were heard and I think at the end of the day this is the important thing.
