Let me tell you about supply and demand! When supply outweighs demand prices are low and availabilty is high!
When Demand Outweighs supply the prices skyrocket!
Now look at the prices people "scalpers" are charging right now these prices are a bargin! the longer you wait the higher the prices are gonna get! SO HEED MY WARNING NOW if you can get a ticket for $100 now I would do it. I know it sucks, but its the laws of economics. My guess is prices will hit $500 range and higher.
So good luck on getting your tickets!

look in newspapers or internet. just look for pixies tickets. This is a once in a lifetime oportunity. "MONEY" will always come and go
but the pixes!!! shit I have listened to them for 14 years. I always used to say and wish I could have seen the pixes. I am still in disbelief that they reunited, and are touring and OH MY GOD!! thaey are starting their tour in western canada. If I didnt get my tickets I would have paid insane money to see these concerts! Like I said Money is too be spent but seeing the pixes up close and personal is FUCKING PRICELESS!!!!

I agree, i drove down to a Minneapolis Vikings game last year and since tickets sell out so fast I had to buy from a 'ticket agent'. I ended up paying $200 a ticket for $85 face value ones. Expensive yes but they were row 3 on the 45yard line so I knew they were good. No sense driving 7 hours and sitting in the rafters.

I agree. Amazed is right. The tickets are just going to go higher. And if you can't get them here (which is definately starting to look dire) then you need to be QUICK and get them somewhere else. Day of show, I have no doubt that tickets will be selling for upwards of $250 a piece if not more.

It's totally shitty that bad luck or crappy computer or stupid ticketmaster lady has caused many of us true fans to have to resorts to scalpers or other means, but that's just the way life goes. And you just have to decide what it's worth to you to see the Pixies.

So stop whining and go get some fucking tickets so you can see the best band ever play live!!!!

If I didn't know any better I'd say that Amazed and pixie801 knew each other already.

Because otherwise ... who would be all "where do I find tickets from a scalper? Help!" unless they were being sarcastic. When I saw that I was sure pixie801 was being sarcastic.

Get off it!! i seriously don't know where to find tickets from a scalper. I've never bouoght tickets from a scalper. My husband said you had to look in the back of the paper. I put in "ticket broker" in google. The only place i found tickets was eBay and I have already said that I bought tickets from there for the Spokane show -- not even the show I wanted to see! (would have actually preferred any of the other 3 NW shows to Spokane.)

If you are just stupid enough to not take anyone's advice then you'll end up begging outside of the concert for tickets and likely buy them off of a scalper there for $300 or more.

And if you'll note, there is a thread here about buying them from eBay because people are realizing this is unfortunately their only option.

it's a totally crappy situation that we are all finding ourselves in, but you gotta deal with it the best you can and hopefully come out on the otherside with tickets!

If you look at the name of the "pixie ticket " buyers on ebay right now.

Alot of Scalpers/ticket Agents are buying these tickets "Ticketheaven,Ticketland,Gottickets"

these are companys that Scalp tickets now wtf are they buying them from people on Ebay you ask?

Because they know what I know that these tickets are worth alot more than they are selling right now. So if you want to piss around thinking "I AM A REAL FAN SOMEONE WILL GIVE ME ONE FOR COST" You must live in a magical world. Well I live in the "Real" world where supply and demand drives the Economy. When tickets are going for 400% face value the day tickets went on sale. that they are going to be over 1000% by the time of the show. When AFI came to calgary in the fall this concert took weeks to sell out and they tour all the time. people were offering me $150 for my ticket and thats to fucking AFI whooopeee shit... If you want to use the mentality that this is just sum other show. Look at where that mentality has got you so far! This is the "LEGENDARY PIXIES"
If your a "TRUE" fan you would buy tickets for Saskatoon right now.
in 1997 I hitchhiked from calgary to vancouver with $100 in my pocket to see pennywise @ vans warped tour. Now to hear people in calgary and edmonton and elsewhere cry that they can't see the pixies.. I say they are not real fans! A real fan would go where ever they had too go to see their band!
GO TO SASKATOON!!!

The magical world, indeed. Or, you have been actively participating in the busiest thread on this board (the Winnipeg show thread) where many "real fans" will get tickets for cost. Apparently this magical world is closer than you think. For those that exhaust all other options, they may still go to ebay (I would have done so as a last resort also).

By the way, you must be an economist or something! How do you know so much about complicated concepts such as supply and demand? Based on what you are saying is "fair," ticketmaster should just auction all the tickets instead of selling them at face value, right? If we are truly going to play by these rules, then the 1500 richest people can go to the show, and the real fans can stay home.

You obviously DON'T understand what I am saying! You must be in junior high school !
people from all over the world want to go to these shows so even if every single ticket went to a "real fan" what about the other 100,000 "real" fans that want to go to the show! there are not enuff tickets to go around! SO WHAT THE FOCK I HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL THIS TIME IS GET YOURSELF A TICKET NOW!!! the longer you wait the more its gonna cost and the supply will get less! Its not about being rich to go its about "HOW HARD YOU WANT TO WORK TO GET IT!"
I have been telling people to buy tickets in saskatoon do I make a profit of it?"????
Nobody wants to WORK HARD for anything anymore they just want it dropped in their lap!
If I was gonna give my ticket to someone it would be to a Third world kid who risk their lives to escape poverty. not some snot nosed brat that slept in and could not buy his ticket!

Sorry ladies and gentlemen but Amazed is correct. It's just an ugly fact of life which is encouraged by our fundamental economic organizations.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that a scalper would be savvy enough to choose "Amazed" as a user name. ("I'm amazed" being a Pixies song of course.)

Can someone please clue my clueless Yankee ass in to what the hell does "tout" mean? Is this a British word for "scalp?"

Ticket prices are going to only go up. After I got shut out by ticketmaster, I called ticket agencies in vancouver. First place was 100 each, the next 110, and the third place i called was 125 each. This is 30 min after they went on sale. I called the first place back and they now wanted 110! they did give 2 to me for the 100 they first quoted, but if this is indicative of what's gonna happen, Amazed is right. Get them while you can, there aren't enough to go round. I know lots of people who LOVE the pixies that didn't even know there was a tour! Older fans who aren't that clued in will be willing to pay anything once it gets closer to the event. Hopefully they'll soon announce a North American tour that covers the big arenas in the big markets and everyone will get to see the Pixies, but these small show tix are just going to go up.

"where have you been?"

And If I was a Scalper I would be saying the opposite that your tickets are only worth face value and I need tickets and Sell me your tickets for cost I would be making up different names to get more tickets!

Wow, how did you guess? I am in Junior High School!

I understand what you're saying, you just have a poor way of saying it. Believe me, I was willing to pay HUNDREDS of dollars a ticket to go to this show. I was willing to go to ebay and pay out the anus whatever I had to for tickets. I worked out a special deal with my manager at work so he would allow me to break company policy for 15 minutes and buy tickets online from my desk. I bought tickets to the Winnipeg show in the middle of an 18-hour shift. I am burning 2 days of vacation time and driving 400 miles to this show. I agree: do what you have to to get tickets.

However, in this age of ebay and legal scalping -- err, Ticket brokering? -- it was refreshing to see a community on this board that was willing to help some people out who were not lucky enough to get tickets. As far as Saskatoon is concerned, if it was the only show I would be driving there as well, and if I lived in Florida I would still be going to Winnipeg in April.

Yes I agree It is nice to see people sharing!
but even on the winnipeg post there are not enuff tickets to go around.
I was pissed when I saw sum asshole from the u.k is ebaying tickets he bought knowing he had no chance in hell of going! but he has the tickets and the only way your gonna get in is with a ticket. So if you can't get one from a buddy then you better find one FAST!
AND WATCH OUT FOR FAKE TICKETS!!!! there's gonna be alot of those

Courtesy of Dictionary.com:

Tout
v. tout·ed, tout·ing, touts
v. intr.
To solicit customers, votes, or patronage, especially in a brazen way.
To obtain and deal in information on racehorses.

v. tr.
To solicit or importune: street vendors who were touting pedestrians.
Chiefly British. To obtain or sell information on (a racehorse or stable) for the guidance of bettors.
To promote or praise energetically; publicize: “For every study touting the benefits of hormone therapy, another warns of the risks” (Yanick Rice Lamb).

I wasn't aware of the British usages, but i have used this word on occasion, and I am 100% Americano.

Anyone have advice on identifying/avoiding fake tickets?

It seems like it's going to be even easier for people to fake tickets w/ the new fast tickets "print-them-yourself" thing!
