What's REALLY hidden in area 51? My theory is that all the dirty rats who thought they could pull a fast one on the Las Vegas casinos and mobsters are buried in there....or perhaps a super-weapon to combat invisible Weapons of Mass Destruction....any other theories?

I don't think that Area 51 is operational any longer. But I seem to remember hearing that they still don't let people in there because of the radiation levels or someting like that. Suuuuuuure that's the reason...

Actually...there was a new runway added just last year. They've been adding to it for more than 50 years. It's weird. Personally...I think that Area 19 is far more mysterious.

| Drove through Rachel, Nevada last September, which is about 30 miles north of Groom Lake. Beautiful desertscapes, where you can drive 90 mph for an hour and meet maybe five vehicles on a weekday morning. It's "open range" so you do need to stay on alert for bovine on the asphalt. At 100 mph they come up pretty fast, and they hardly move at all, having been bred for mass and stupidity. |

I saw a programme a while back about UFO's, and it had footage of Area 51 filmed from a distance. But I don't remember if they showed anything out of the ordinary or not. Maybe the government created a myth around the place to distract attention from REAL top-secret locations....I'm start'in to sound like agent Mulder!
