I've seen you use this forum as a sort of "personals" before and I'm just curious, do you think gay people find it easier this way? I've noticed this sort of announcement before and it seems to confirm my thought that meeting people must be hard. I mean, do you think it's more difficult to meet guys than it is for straight guys to meet gals? I've always though it must be difficult because you never know what homophobe you might be approaching who will not respond kindly. Anyway, just curious.

Intersting point you bring up there scutor 2 members of my immediate family are homosexual, and both use either gay websites, or personal ads to meet other people.
I once asked them why they do it - because ya know, it like in the hetro world it seen as quite sad to use a personals...but youre right scutor, its much easier to find friends in the same area that are gay through personals. The majority of the time.
And yeah, thinking about it, I have grown up with gay people all my life, and i only know ONE who is a sorta frank fan - more a pixies guy

I hate the fact that - most of my friends being guys, often wont/dont value my opinion on music as much as eachothers. Really gets on my nerves. Especially if im going out with a guy at the time who HAPPENS to be in to the same music (..the reason im with him mostly..) then everyone thinks i only like those bands because of him..or whatever. GRRRGHGGGHHH
Doesnt happen as much any more..since peple seen me go out with different guys and still have the same taste..
and when I ran my own magazine, the fuckers had to be nice so id wirte nice things about their bands, and now, with my promotional company, they have to be nice to get a gig. haha., plus it proves what great taste i have..with the nights we put on ( or used to --undergoing a re launch at the mo)

I do introduce my gf to a lot of music and she knows it too. Hey, I'd rather that than have her like Britney.
Anyhoo, I remember seeing a post about this once before. About girls having shitty taste (in general) and that being a problem for some people's relationships. Anyone agree or disagree with me here and if you agree, do you find it to be a problem in your relationship?

yes, a big problem. i only date girls who have very similar tastes in music (hence i've only had 3 serious girlfriends!) my current gf loves the pixies (although she never got TLM!!!!!!), and likes similar stuff to me, although a bit more NME'ie than my alternative cool kid indie...  she's listening to kenickie (or however it's spelt at the moment) but i allow her the odd relapse...

i agree with you.the majority of girls(at least the ones i met) doesn't have taste in music.my actual girfriend hadn't heard of groups famous as the ramones or the cure before she met me.i tried to introduce her to rock music but she's not interested.actually she doesn't care at all about music and she finds that i throw my money when i buy cd's.i don't find it a problem though 'cause i think too that she throws away a lot of money in crap that she likes.the best part is that i get to go to concerts alone.i've been through the "i'm coming with you just because we are a couple and we must go out together and you must come with me when i go shopping" stuff and it was a pain in the ass.
when i was younger i was more obsessed with music and i tried to date only rock fan girls.it always ended up that i was talking about music all day and it was pretty boring.there are a lot of other things that interest me and i can share with my girfriend so i kind of like that music is a thing that i can enjoy alone.

i must add that though i don't care if my girlfriend isn't interested in music,i avoid girls that like music but have tastes completely different than mine.in more than one occasion i had fights about listening to crap in car or blasted in MY stereo.i just can't stand waking up in the morning to the sound of eros ramazzotti or having arguments on listening to nigerian tribal hymns in my car.so i guess that my screening consists in making sure that they don't like something that i hate more than if they like the same stuff as me.
