Will it sell out?? How big is the venue?? I want to see The Pixies up in Winnipeg, MB ideally. But I'd hate to wait for a shot at those tickets only to have them sell out before I get the chance and have Coachella tickets sell out in the meantime. 15 hour drive up to Winnipeg vs. a 30 hour drive over to California. Winnipeg only seats 2,000 very lucky people...

Probably a big field. It should only be about 95° in Indio in May.

Yeah, it's not a 'venue'. It's in the middle of the desert.

Coachella takes place on a HUGE set of polo fields. It's nice and grassy -- very little sand to be found. I would guess the capacity is well beyond 100,000 people. And I wouldn't want to be there if they sell out.
It already takes up to 3 hours to get in the place -- 1 hour to park -- 2 hours waiting at the security check in. If there were 2x the people that were there last year it would be unbearable.

yeah, i doubt it will sell out, but then with Pixies AND Radiohead AND Wilco AND The Cure all on the same bill, you never know.
aside from the fact that it's a total money trap (no water allowed inside, but you can buy 12oz waters for $5).. and there will be thousands of annoying kids in trucker hats (a little to the side) it is a nice outdoor space, and once the sun starts going down it's really quite beautiful in the desert |

It's big. It's expensive. It's crowded. It's hot during the day. It's freezing after sundown. Have fun! I know I will!
