| Dunno, but I read a pretty bad review of it. Still, you can't go by the critics, but I'm not a Hole/Love fan anyway. She's always singing about being famous/celebrity etc. It's very annoying, and the music ain't so great anyway. |

here's a question: LIVE THROUGH THIS sounded like a Nirvana album because Kurt co-wrote alot of the stuff with her. and CELEBRITY SKIN sounded vaguely Pumpkinsesque because she was nailing Billy Corgan (who cowrote and produced the album). So who's Courtney Love fucking now to get a sound?

Why Kim would associate herself with a blood-sucking shitwhore like Courtney Love is beyond me...I have to admit, I dug Hole's 'Pretty on the Inside' (I still think its a pretty cool album actually) but any cred or shred of musical integrity that she might have had in my eyes has long since been flushed down the shitter.
Kim should keep her collabarations non-septic. Like doing something with Sonic Youth again. |

| Kim with Sonic Youth did "Little Trouble Girl" and she appears on the video for it too!!! I love "Sensational Gravity Boy" which she did with GBV.And also "Special One" with Ultra Vivid Scene and The one she did with This Mortal Coil "You And Your Sister".She also collaborated again with Robert Pollard for the soundtrack of Love and a.45("Love Hurts" cover).Courtney respects Kim a lot because Kurt was very fond of The Pixies and The Breeders.I remember that Kim and Co.assisted to Kurt's memorial service.I personally want to her Love's cover of Bette Davis Eyes. |

She appears in "Little Trouble Girl" off of Washing Machine... and I only recently found that out. I always THOUGHT that "Sha-la-la" voice sounded reeeeeally familiar. Then I found out why.
On a side note, Kim Gordon actually produced/engineered the Hole album "Pretty on the Inside" |

I think its a little to easy tp jump on the 'i hate courtney band wagon' . IM not saying all you are...I just think it is.
I used to be a HUGE courtney fan. Not so much anymore, more just reminds me about a time in my life you know. I do still love her for that. I try not to getin to courtney conversations. I ahve to say, opinion went down on her after last year particularly ...fucking fans around and stuff.
I completely see why [eople dislike her. But i admire her. She has been through so much, ut she just wont let them get her down. just keeps going, and has amaziung self belief (or arrogance!).
My friend Mel said the album is amazing, im yet to hear it. I shall reserve judgement til then.

Funny thing, I didnt think Kim was on the new Hole album....plus this is an entirely redone CD from the original recordings done in France last year. New producer than the one on the France sessions (who was co writing some of the material from those sessions as I understand it as well as dating CLove)
They only kept one of the original studio musicians on this second rendition....Emilie Autumn I believe.
All while CLove was/is in rehab (hopefully this will help her out).
Strange how others can create their own version of "your" vision.
Life is funny that way.

I haven't hears America's Swetheart yet but i do have a soft spot for Courtney.
You have to understand, this goes back 10 years, when i was 13 i idolised Courtney Love and although i'm 10 years older and can see that doing shit loads of drugs and showing your knickers really isn't that cool, i still really like her.
She's a fuck up but i think theres something nice about being unapologetic about it.
Most famous people go into rehab and find God and then discuss the process on Oprah, Courtney just doesn't give a fuck and makes the same mistakes again and again and again.
Its not a life that i would want to live, but i'm glad that she does, even though its for my entertainment. |

Not to critique CLove's choices, or people's perception of those choices, she still does have a plan (vague as it may seem publicly).
A very admirable part of that plan: she tries to help out other women in rawk. She has been pretty good at consistently having that high on her agenda. And not JUST women in music but that facet is particulary suited to this forum.
Rehab, drugs, boobs, emotional instability and whatever else may be attributed to her, she tries to look out for her girls in an incredibly male dominated world/industry.
