back to fbf's original thought.......I was in college in New England around that time, and when I hear certain Pixies songs, they remind me of the sound of that time. The sound of the clubs and the local bands and the ska-influenced British bands and the touring bands and all of it. and the Violent Femmes and the Dead Milkmen and Depeche Mode and the Smiths and the Cure and on and on.

Sorry! It just caught me off-guard. I didn't think I would ever have to remember the VF's...thought their "has been" exisitence had finally vanished off the face of this planet. I love Frank Black...but that doesn't mean I have to like VF's just because he does. They are one of those bands, like Phish or even Grateful Dead, that you either love to death, or hate to death...
