I am always reading stuff like 'after the pixies nasty split' or it was a 'difficult break up' but i only just came to a realisation, i don't really know exactly what the fuck happened?

They split up because I told them to, simple as that. Then they got back together because my dog told them to.

when the breeders visited dublin, around the time of the Divinehammer single, i went to a record signing with Kim an Kelley in a tiny dublin record store and my friend asked her (cheekily) why the Pixies had broken up she said (her words, i know it hurts) "cos frank black is an asshole"... true

They could not get along anymore at the level required to actually get the work done. Time heals, so they are playing together again.
