This makes no sense. Out of nowhere they all of the sudden decide to sell the tickets for the shows. Seriously, it was fucking out of nowhere, basically no warning. Dave or some other site moderator should be looking at stuff so they post the links to order tickets on the site. Motherfucking ticket companies. It's gross.
I think that all of them are going to take advantage of the Pixies reunion to make more money than they normally would. They don't care about fans. They love fucking us over.
I really hope that all of you fans across the sea who wanted to go get to go because this is a disgrace. I pray to God that Frank or some other high power hears about this and complains or puts on more shows for the true fucking fans, not some punkass blink-182 asshole.
FUCK!

This morning was a serious disaster. The real fans got screwed over BIG STYLE while the touts scooped up a shitload of tickets. It almost seems like a conspiracy. The least ticketweb should do is post a formal apology on this site for all the people who got up early this morning only to have their dreams crushed in an hour of mass confusion. Shit like this could turn happy-go-lucky people into cynics.

Yes, the very least the SHOULD do. They should send everyone on this site who they fucked up the ass a couple of free tickets or so. This is gross. Cruel. Gah...this is becoming very bad - very fast. I haven't been too keen on the idea from the beginning....and this is just giving me more reason to dislike it. They're fucking everyone and letting the touts get money. Fuck damnit motherfucking fuck fuck shit asshole bitch slut whore shit damn fuck shit! hahahaha Ah...that made me feel a LITTLE bit better...FUCK DAMN SHIT MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLE SHIT FUCKER BITCH SLUT WHORE PIG FUCKING MOTHERFUCKING SONOFABITCH FUCKER FUCKING FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK SHIT! *sigh*

I guess it's about Pixies tickets
My guess is also that there will be more shows considering the high amount for tickets

You know what. The whole Pixies reunion is about money. That's all it's about. It's about getting back together, playing together, and making buckets full of cash. It's not about writing new songs. It's not about artistic integrity. It's about being a traveling jukebox like every other reunion act is about. This is what it's going to be like for every show. All of you who wanted a Pixies reunion: you asked for it, now deal with it.

So I'm trying to sort out what's going on here. The tickets for both Brixton shows abruptly went on sale this morning with minimal presale advertising, and the tickets sold out while the company website was down (for an hour or so)? And these are headlining shows?
Somebody tell me if I'm getting any of this wrong. |

Yeah, this is what I was worried about. Touring with the uber-mainstream, such as Radiohead or RHCP, leaves us no tickets. What the hell? |

At least if the members are going it to make a quick buck they are more likely to add more shows. if they added more shows that they would be making the cash instead of the touts.
I was considering buying a ticket off ebay, but they are currently £100 each.
The whole thing is really annoying, but if they had announced all the tour dates (i don't believe that two dates in london is the total uk tour)people wouldn't have been so fixatedon the london dates and just bought tickets for the gig nearest to them.

I wouldn't buy anything off Ebay yet (or at all), just sit tight and wait for extra dates/venues to be announced. |

I've bid on a few but i've been outbid fairly quickly. It appears that i'm not going to get a ticket for less than £100 but June is a long way off, i'll wait until the situation is clearer |

Brixton is such a good venue..........saw them there in 1990.
So I had to buy a ticket from e-bay.
Gracie there are a couple of "bargains" on there at the moment. "Buy now"......ie no need to bid!!!!............just click and they are yours....................do it!!!! (maybe??) |

Exactly. It seems pretty hypocritical to decry the reunion and then go to see one of the shows. If you're really against it, put your money where your mouth is. Otherwise...
And further, Jim, do you have some inside connection wherein you are privy to Frank's motivations? Or something you could quote for us, perhaps? Or is this all conjecture and personal opinion? Because you seem pretty certain.

I never said I wouldn't go. I would. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. If I happen upon a ticket I'll go. It'll be cool to see them, but that's it. It's all a novelty. That's all reunion gigs are, a novelty act. It's like "Hey, here's some songs were wrote and recorded over 10 years ago," as if I hadn't heard them on various bootlegs and the albums over and over and over.
No, I don't have any insider info. It's all conjecture and personal opinion. But think about it logically, why have a reunion? Yeah, I'm sure he'll finally want to bury the hatchet and play with his old band, more power to him, you know. It's his life, I don't care, no matter how many people hate the idea that's not gonna stop him. I'm just expressing my thoughts and opinions on why I think this is retarded and why I'd rather hear a new Breeders album and a new FB&TC album than I would like to spend 2 hours watching old tunes played live.

I dunno..i have a feeling FB was being a little facetious when he said the 'million dollar' quote. Does it seem like much of what FB does is profit-driven? Where does he stand here, historically?
Are we even talking about the same person?
My guess is FB *wants* to do this. I would imagine there is something he would gain from this, besides money and fame. (Two things i really doubt he desires more of.)
Maybe he likes the energy and music and dynamics of the Pixies. (What a wonder?! Would also explain why he's been playing so many more of these tunes at FB shows.)
Maybe he wants to spend more time playing with Joey, David and Kim?
Maybe he's had some sort of terrific revelation, and what we're about to hear will be totally different, and fantastic..??
Or maybe it is a fund-raiser for himself, which we will no doubt benefit from in the future with more fantastic FB music.
No matter what any of us think, it will no doubt be revealed soon enough, as this will be the question every reporter will ask.
To repeat myself; i have faith in the man, who hasn't disapointed me in the past. This negative speculation is almost entirely unfounded, and does no good anywhere tho, and i'd like to see less of it.
Differing opinions are great, but not when they're completely unsubstantiated.

Are you serious? Franks like only about 39, theres loads of time for catholics stuff and for Kim with the Breeders. I'll be getting a full dose of that tour.

Back to the original topic, it makes plenty of sense to sell out a couple of relatively small shows before announcing a large tour. These two dates selling out so quickly will increase the hype surrounding ticket sales and the rest of the tour. They'll probably get mentioned in the national press, and pretty much ensure good sales- especially from all the people who wanted to go to Brixton but couldn't get tickets.
It's also a good way to test the water, to guage what the demand for such a tour will be before booking / confirming other dates and larger venues.
Now let's just hope that they do announce some more uk dates... |

Considering all the money I was about to spend on flights/accom to US to the California gig, I guess the £200 I spent on ebay for Brixton tickets seems like a bargain?
No - only when I've been drinking out of date cider. Fucking parasites! What can I do - I got excited by the thought of seeing them again almost 13 years to the day when I caught them the first time in Brixton.
