Hell, I'm lost on this forum. I don't know where to post. Anyway... It looks like there's a European tour planned for the beginning of next year, I hope it's not just a rumour. It's amazing how the new records got great reviews in about every important newspapers and magazines in France. A lot of critics say they're among the best things Frank has recorded in the past 10 years (and I totally agree with it!) and I still haven't read a negative review. I hope the records are selling well. I'm proud to say at least 2 people have bought them after I told them to... Well that's a beginning but I'm doing the best I can.
Anyway, you Catholics, if you're reading, I WANT you to come over here as soon as possible! And when playing in Paris, try to avoid the Elysee Montmartre, book the Trabendo or the Cigale instead.

agree with that
cigale would be really really great.
trabendo maybe a bit small, but
better than elysée.
and they could play two nights. or three.
oh yeah!

I don't mind if Frank and the Catholics play at the ELysee Montmartre. Anyway, I will also attend a show in a much smaller place (Rennes, Lille, Lyon ?), this way I will, as usual, attend 2 very different shows.
When playing in front of large crowd, Frank usually likes to play the more obvious songs, whereas in smaller venues he likes to play more obscure songs.

Denis, you are right concerning the reviews in french magazines. I just read a very small revue in the free RATP mag ("A nous Paris") and they liked the two albums, altough they give some false or incorrect information. For example they said that this album was a come back to pure punk rock (drums, bass, guitars, vocals). That could be said for Cult or the FB+Cs album, but not for BLD & DW. Didn't they hear the nice pedal steal guitar or keybords all along the songs ? We also have a bit of Sax this time.
Anyway ...

Telerama did the same mistake, looks like they only listened to DW. And no, I don't want to see any concert in the Elysée Montmartre ever again. Ugly place, ugly sound, stupid staff, expensive tickets. I'll try to follow the tour this time too, maybe we could organise ourselves.

Sure, Frank shouldn't play at the Divan du Monde wich is an awful place, Trabendo would be allright, I saw Gluecifer there and the sound was very good.

I hated Les Inrocks's review. It's so stupid to wait for a Pixies come back.

Oh, and I hate it when they spell Frank Black with a C before the K.
In France, in about 20% of the newspapers reviews and 50% of the little stickers in the record shops, Frank is spelled Franck.
I HATE IT.
They call themselves record shops and they are not able to write correctly the name of the artists.

An example => french amazon

Not very funny review but he liked both records.
