"Pixies Reunion Gossip Heats Up

Rumors are flying that the Pixies have announced tour plans for the spring. It seems highly likely, but no official dates have come from the band, their booking agents, or any promoters.
An anonymous "official" announcement is making the rounds on the Internet, stating that some North American warm-up shows will precede the band's heavily rumored Coachella appearance. A supporting slot for Red Hot Chili Peppers in Europe is also mentioned, and the Peppers' official Web site claims that the Pixies will appear with them in Paris and Dublin.
However, Heidi Robinson, the Pixies' publicist, told Pollstar that nothing has been confirmed - not even the Coachella date. She stated that the band will play the weekend desert festival, but the specific date has not been verified. "
okay, so this is still all bullpoop, and not officially confirmed. i'm gettin' a little tired of the back and forth, back and forth...
there's probably not even a press conference today at all.
okay, everybody back to the nail biting...

While I respect that Pollstar is being cautious (it would've been nice to have had the other outlets also wait for official confirmation) the announcement on FB.Net is from an official source. Not even pseudo-official. Official.
But you don't have to believe it, I can't say I blame the skeptics. All I can really offer you in assurance is the fact that when everyone was going forth with what were, in fact, rumours at that point, we held out until we could actually confirm it officially.

nonono, i believe it... fb.net is definitely reliable.
i'm just sayin' that if their own publicist says nothing's confirmed yet, it's just a little unnerving, you know?
anyways, where did the info about the press conference today come from? is that still supposed to happen? or was that a bunch of hooey?

I'm afraid that I haven't heard anything official about a press conference, though I should reiterate that Dave is the direct link to the official goods and I can only answer from what I've seen of that communication.
