Yeah, that, and she's a crackhead. She takes to staring at (the same) spots on the wall, or in the hall, too. Sometimes when I'm up late and listening to Coast to Coast AM, this (almost) makes me wet 'em.
Sorry -didn't mean to turn this into a ghost story thread ahahha, but we did have something weird going on in our old condo. "It" even "got into" my hubby's Akai sampler, and we recorded quite a bit of whatever it was onto 8-track tape. I'm pretty skeptical, but we are at a loss to explain what happened.

In the hot, too. I was in the UK in the summer of '88. The temp got up to about 85F and people were complaining like they were in a sauna. I had to laugh at that. |

We had a cracking summer/autumn in Ireland...but it got REAL frosty, yesterday. A little milder today. Snow expected. Dan? |

How warm (in F) does it get over in England (London area)? If 85 is as hot as it gets, I'm gonna love it.
Oh, and a few guys at work were talking about the temp out there in Canadia. I didn't bother to say I knew a few nerds from there.

-15F expected in central Ohio tonight. Wind chills predicted to be -25 or so. Here's hoping the power stays on.

You should worry! My father is a retired pathologist, and even as a tiny child, I knew better than to open any of the mysterious, lidded Dixie containers that he would sometimes bring home from the hospital and store in the fridge en route to somewhere else. Also, my family collects organs as if they were wallet snapshots; somewhere in my mother's house, my brother's appendix floats in a jar next to another one that contains my (record-sized!) tonsils & adenoids. Yet another holds the bone/cartilage removed during my sister's rhinoplasty. My parents kept every tooth we ever lost (even those surgically removed), and my placenta & umbilical cord are preserved in a gigantic pickle jar full of formaldehyde. I guess that when I die, I can request to be buried with my original packaging. Niiice.

Wow. Reminds me of the film "Parents" with Randy Quaid. (Not that you ate anything your father brought home, of course.) It was a very dark film about a nuclear family. The young son had nightmares about the food they ate, but the folks wouldn't tell him what kind of meat it was. Strangely funny film. Oddly grotesque shots of meat. Dave Noisy would enjoy it.

Funny, I myself plan to spend a couple of weeks or months in the US (California) in 2005, maybe before if my professional ambitions materialize quickly. I'd be glad to visit Saskatchewan if you're still there. You'll teach me the art of bear hunting and I'll give you French lessons, so you'll feel comfortable in Quebec... ;)
Btw, I've always been fascinated by the names of certain Canadian provinces and American states, and 'Saskatchewan' is certainly one of my favorites. Don't ask me why, I really don't know. Maybe I'll know when I'm there. :) |

Utah is my favorite (anyone from Utah?)
By the way, in France, 7 000 people died last summer because of the heat. So if I were you, Dean, I would visit France during the winter...

Frog, we'd love to have you here marvelling at all the interestingly named places. :) And I'll teach you to kill a bear even after it's ripped off one of your arms. Difficult unless you have the right techniques.
Adnan, I will be there in the summer - I always liked living dangerously. Actually, I do plan on doing a 2005 European escape, probably live over there for a year or so. Though I have been there before, it was only for a few months. France was beautiful, all of it. The south/Riviera, the Beaujolais region, Lyon, Paris, c'est magnifique.

I've seen it too--very disturbing/funny.
When I was little, there was this Berkeley science curriculum that was taught in the schools, and it dealt with a different system of the body every year in middle school. It would not be unusual for my family to go out for a large Mexican meal and then back to the lab to hack up a brain or liver or lung, depending on what we were studying at school at the time. Ah, good times. . .

It's supposedly -9 here and I thought it was above 0. But I think it's supposed to warm up later in the day.
Lots of rain over there, Carl?
