Okay, before anyone gets upset with me I must point out that I'm only passing on info about something I noticed - I'm not going to get excited until an official announcement is made either. If everyone's already seen this I apologise (have just got back from a weekend away)
But thought you might be interested in this...
http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/lineups.php?hits_seen=75&Year=2004
It's a festivals rumours page (yep - RUMOURS), but having kept an eye on it the first half of last year for hints about who would play Glastonbury it's been known to be quite accurate in the past. But like I say - I'm just passing on what I saw....

Please no, not V!!! Why oh why would they want to play there?
I would guess that V would pay the most so that is the only reason I can think of and if that's true then they must be in some debt. |

I really doubt it would be the V festival. I would put money on Glastonbury with Reading being a close second. |

Congrats Clopser! How did it go? Did you exchange rings? Did you march up the aisle to "Brown-nosed Girl"?
Hope that it went well, I will drink to your good health tonight.

All went well cheers TP, although the actual marriage part was one of the most unromantic events of my whole life. We got married in a seedy office, where the people waiting in line were dressed as though they were about to go jogging in the winter, and no-one looked happy at all (apart from the wife and I). When we finally got our papers, we had a big kiss and I put the ring on my wifes finger, and while this was going on everyone was looking at us as if we were crazy. It was very bizarre, and in reality most people were getting married for reasons other than love.... i.e. to stay in the country etc etc. Thats how it had to be though, and this was the only way we could get officially married in China. Still we have the ceremonies in May and August to look forward to which should be very romantic.
I cannot believe that Pixies would stoop to play one of the V festivals, they are the festivals with the worst atmopheres. Surely Reading of Glastonbury would be more appropriate??

Any Festival would be dim...I'll sound manic & jelous - but not everyone at festivals would be there to see the pixies, thus if it sells out, it would be terrible. Id just want to see the pixies surrounded by fellow fans and not drunken leppers... jealous.

Well done Stuart, many good wishes for a long and successful marriage!
V Festivals are normally reserved for crap bands. I'd rather it were Reading. |

Cheers Steve....
I agree with V Festivals, they are reserved for crap bands.... I had a great time at V2001, but that was as a result of the drugs I took and not the talent on show.... in fact musically it was nothing special, although the Foo Fighters were very good.

I have never been to Reading Festival (Ive always been meaning to go but never got around to it)..... but I reckon for sheer atmosphere Glastonbury has to be the best.... none of this queuing up to see bands, having to go through gates all of the time and show your wristband.

I've been to Reading 8 times (some of my best memories, some of my worst), V once(in 97 - it was erm, okay) and then Glasto for the first time last year - and I can't help but feel that Glastonbury is not so much the best of the bunch, but a completely different experience altogether. I used to love Reading to bits (maybe I'm getting old) but going to Glasto for the first time made Reading and V feel like being herded into a car park. I was as happy walking around and meeting people / seeing strange and wonderful sights in the two days before bands started at Glastonbury as I was watching the music I'd initially gone there to see - if the Pixies play there this year I'll be ecstatic.... That said, if it's the difference between seeing 'em and not seeing 'em I'll take what I can...

Thanks Scarlo....
I agree Gavredmaxx, Glastonbury is an experience..... you don't have to queue to get in, everything is chilled out (except for the Mancs and Scousers being their usual prick selves) and it's a generally enjoyable time when the music comes on. Ive been to two Glastonburys and I have to admit they are both two of the best weekends of my life, no other music festival has come close, not even Roskilde (which I didn't rate very highly at all). If the Pixies play Glastonbury then the Brits are in for a treat!!!

Cheers everyone!!
Apologies Homers.... I was a little drunk last night and should have rephrased my comments regarding Scousers and Mancs.... what I meant was that the dealers at Glastonbury being 95% Scousers and Mancs are their usual prick selves. I wasn't meaning Mancs and Scousers as a whole, I have many good Manc / Scouse mates.... Oh dear, sorry, I really didn't mean any offense.

It's OK I thought I knew what you were getting at anyway. There are a lot of pricks in Manchester 'cos their are a lot of scallies. Unfortunately however, they are everywhere, otherwise I would move somewhere else. Besides Manchester has a lot going for it too so why should I leave my home because of those worthless scum.
Hmm you can probably tell that scallies really bother me. I wish nothing but immediate death to them all!!! |

Enough with the scouser bashing already. I was born in Liverpool and most of my family were raised there. Admittedly its a shithole, but you can come from there and not be a knobhead, you might even be a god ie Lennon. There are knobheads everywhere these days and i dont think Liverpool is that much worse tahn your average fuck off city these days.

I'm guessing a Scally is the Liverpool equivilent of a Charver, dicks who go around wearing tracksuits and burberry hats terrorizing young children, nicking cigarettes and generally being wankers
