Although I didn't like that much their recent work, I still consider Belle and Sebastian as the best pop band in the world since the Smiths. I would like to know if Frank Black is compatible with Belle and Sebastian.

I've heard good stuff about Belle and Sebastian but never have heard Belle and Sebastian. What would you suggest?
Side note: Monday you and I had close to the same number of post's. What the hell have you been doing? Lay off that french coffee!

Note to self - YES!! Thank's to Spudboy's advice, making love to blow up doll is better than advertised!! Side note to self: Mad Dog 20/20. It isn't just for high school dances anymore!

Tell me this, is it true that you have to own a duffle coat to like Belle & Sebastien?

Also, anyone remember the real Belle & Sebastien, about one young girl and her faithful St Bernard?

Karaoke, I'd suggest "If You're Feeling Sinister" or "The Boy With The Arab Strap". The thing I do like about them is despite the fact that everything they release is new (i.e singles aren't on albums, extra tracks on CDs aren't off albums) the quality is nearly always consistent.

Mike (AKA Speedy_m) just lent me his Dear Catastophe Waitress. Digging it alright, though in particular Step Into My Office, Baby is tasty.

"Tigermilk" and "If you're feeling sinister" are their two best albums, in my opinion.

No, but you_ have to LIKE duffle coats. I think girls with duffle coats are so cute.

If You're Feeling Sinister is still their best album, and a good one to start with. the new one doesn't do it for me, as a whole, but there are a few good songs.

The answer is pretty simple: I'm unemployed.

Fold your hands child, you walk like a peasant - is an amazing album, one of their best songs I reckon is family tree.

And don't forget their little Norwegian brothers, the Kings of Convenience.

"Compatible" how? Obviously there are several fans of both, or this thread wouldn't be as long as it currently is. You can count me in as a fan of both, although I like Frank better.

I'd have to agree with the people who are saying "If You're Feeling Sinister" would be a good starting album. So would "The Boy with the Arab Strap."

"If You're Feeling Sinister" was my first introduction to Belle and Sebastian. I really enjoyed that album. I would highly reccomend it. Plus, you can get it extra cheap, its one of those Matador Record's bargain albums.
