Are other people watching this? The actual show (with the contestants on stage, etc) is horribly cheesy but the auditions are hysterical. WHY do these people actually think they can sing? I guess in the Britney/X-Tina era, people think any lame-o can be a star. Such a weird phenom...

I got hooked last season...beware, the auditions are the gateway drug...you get hooked on laughing at the losers and the judges comments, but you get drawn in and actually start caring who is gonna win....

Well, I watched it off and on in the first season but the way they fucking drag everything out makes me want to kill myself. I think I can break away after the auditions - partly cause I can't stand the whole specticle. I just like watching the auditions b/c I love the people who really think they can sing and are horrible. Good times.

I'm pretty sure the horrible audition people know they're horrible, they just want to get on TV, or there's some producer intervention there. "Listen, you don't have a chance, but if you sing this really bad song we'll put you on anyway as one of the audition people" You have to keep in mind, there's obviously a panel of judges who judge who can go on in front of the panel of judges...I'd like to make that panel a reality tv show.

But the horrible people cry! I mean they really seem to THINK that they can sing. It's bizarre. And then they are told they are and they are SHOCKED. I don't think they are that good of actors. I mean, I am sure some people come on and just want to be on TV but others are utterly convinced that they are the shit when they actually suck. Humans are weird.

| It seems like a lot of the suckass (okay, that's a relative term -- most suckass) singers are non-native speakers of the ingles. Maybe that explains why they don't reckanize their faults. I really feel sorry for them. To not only fail miserably, but to fail miserably at something so vile and depraved -- that's pathetic. |
