oooo so exciting i'm the first post!

didn't write down the set this time - anyone?
highlights for me:
- Rich breaks a string, then continues to solo by tweaking a tuning knob.
- wave of mutilation.
- i'm really starting to like that "for the first time in my life, i just don't care" number. "it's a beautiful day! it's a horrible day!"
- dave and dave leaning back-to-back (dave-to-dave?) like some kind of 80s glam rockers.
- everything else

rock!

PS (Offtopic:) i got props for my Sifl n Olly shirt tonight, anyone else dig them?

This saves me from creating a topic. I took over 40 pics here are a few. The wife and I met 3 people from the board, Floop, Gibbo and Zanni. Zanni made a set list. Good times people. Somehow I knew I'd be the first to post pics from this tour. Speed it up people. Now it's time for bed.

Thanks Madadam, and Thomas - those photos are great. Frank is looking lean and mean. Rich looks like Willem Dafoe crossed with one of the muppets. It looks as if you were to the right of the stage then?

28 tracks, but still no San Antonio, Tx. Maybe they are perfecting it for the next Euro tour!

Hey Dave, that would be cool. If a board (bored?) member gets his own page of nothing but Frank Black pictures. I've got a few personal pictures I can post, but I don't have my own website I can post the pictures onto and link to 'em from here.

Last night's show was awesome. I got to say hello to Mr.Black after the Virgin in-store performance, and contrary to what some "idiots" on this board says, he was very friendly, signed my BLD and DW albums, posed for a picture with me, thanked me for coming, and joked around for a bit with the rest of the audience.

And I also saw/heard the Bennies for the first time last night, and they were very good. The guitarist seemed to be in a very good mood when Frank came up to him during his set, and he yelled out into the mic, "Fuck you Charles! Fuck you!" Pretty cool! Dave's science show was also funny in a geeky way, but I appreciated it. The glowing pickle was neet-o, and the meteorite was very edu-cation-al! My wife like Reid Paley more than I did. His sarcastic jokes weren't as funny as he seemed to think. Oh, and he was rock'n in a wholesome positive way too. Imo.

You're not kidding. Holy freak. Anyone watching the tabloids? Has Dafoe been possibly having a tryst with Animal? This could explain the recent absence of the old Rich.

My ears are still ringing, and I can't stop thinking about the show. Its going to be a long two weeks until the Warsaw show. The only bad thing is that he didn't play Cactus at the Bowery; he played it for the Asbury show. I was telling my friend that he played it and he was patiently waiting for it, then he was a little disappointed. How many of you made the trek to the in-store at Union Square? We went and were treated to about five or six songs. He was in a real jovial mood which more or less seemed to carry over to the Bowery show. Of course there was no band and he made it short but sweet. Overall I had a great weekend of Frank! And really, I can't wait for the Warsaw.

Tuesday at the Bowery was great. Charles entered through the front door. He had his guitar strapped to his back and just came from an in-store signing at Virgin in Union Square. It was just after 8pm and the opening act, The Bennies, were on stage. The Bennies singer introduced him to the 30 or so people who showed up early. Charles walked up to the front of the stage and put both middle fingers up towards the singer without saying a word. The singer then proceeded to tell him, "Fuck you Charles, Fuck you Charles".
Seeing Charles in a happy mood. I knew it was going to be a good show. Charles slipped away till it was his turn to play. The Bennies played a nice set. David Lovering and Rich Gilbert enjoyed the set with the rest of us.

David Loverings Science Act was funny and EDUCATIONAL. One girl was asked to come up on stage to assist and Dave asked her to sign a waiver. She signed it "Pixie for ever". He thought that was real nice.

Reid Paley Trio. Local Brooklyn act. Now I'm ready for Frank and the Catholics.

Charles blazed through his songs, meaning no between song banter with the crowd or band, also meaning no chance for anyone to scream for Pixies songs. A good time had by all. I was able to get Gilberts and Philips autographs. More pictures to follow when I get back.

Well, I had my friend tape the show. He was up in the balcony, right in back of the sound and lighting guys. He was there for about 45 mins, then somebody came up and kicked him out. As far as I know he got about 40 mins of the show, but isn't real happy with the audio. I have yet seen or heard it, but if its decent I'd be happy to share. Great show, though!
