That's all I could find...and it's special order...I guess if they can't find them they'll notify you. But hey, hopefully there are still some left. I'm probably going to get them, not now, though..no money, haha.

I'm guessing they won't be able to get it if you order it but it's worth a try. I'm all out of money though so I won't be trying

Has anyone tried to order them yet? I think I'm going to try if they ship to the UK reasonably. If anyone does manage to get them though I think we should scan them and up them to the ftp. Would that be cool, what with them being out of print and all?

Wonder if they lifted them from Derek's site (or this one, for that matter).

They would be the official books probably. There was a picture of them in a thread not too long ago

I always heard those books were full of mistakes and generally suck. Has anyone ever actually owned or seen one?

'Official' tab books are always hit and miss. Usually they get a couple of songs right, and a couple songs are way off how the band play it and then theres some in the middle. It would make sense if the band was more involved in the process, but I guess its cheaper to get a 'professional' to do it...

I've always wondered about that myself. I guess it is usually some session musician who is hired for a couple weeks to figure out the songs and get them in some sort of form so it can be printed. For all I know a computer does it. Either way, you're right. Tab books, in general, aren't things to trust. I've owned several tab books in the past...whenever I went to a show or saw the band on TV, I've always paid attention to the guitar playing, chords, etc. That's the only way to really learn a song other than having a good ear and some extra guitar knowledge. I don't even want to estimate how many times I've seen tab books be incorrect just from seeing songs live or on TV.

Yeh you'd think the 'professionals' would at least try to get the right tuning or something. Thats the most annoying part for me.

I got this message today from Amazon:

Greetings from Amazon.com.

We are sorry to report that we will not be able to obtain the following
items from your order:

"Doolittle Pixies"

"Pixies Trompe Le Monde P/v/g"

Though we had expected to be able to send these items to you, we've
since found that they are not available from any of our sources at
this time. We realize this is disappointing news to hear, and we
apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you.

These unavailable items have been cancelled from your order.

I'm not really surprised, but I honestly think that amazon would be better if they removed deleted items...

That is really high, but it's not as bad as All My Ghosts for $600.

You know the more I think about it it's probably worth it (the tab book, not All My Ghosts) and I might get it if I had $50. I mean, how many times has anyone seen this for sale anywhere?

A tip for people who are more players than collectors and just want to compare the P/V/G to internet tab: most bigger libraries have copies of these books (and photocopiers) within. Here in Chicago our main library has Doolittle, but I know when I lived in Columbus, Ohio even they had Bossanova in reference. So people in smaller towns still have hope.

This auction didn't go so well for the guy. I ended up getting it for $26. Its a 'Vocal and Piano' tab book though, only gutiar chords, no tab... which disappointed me a bit, but at least I can see what chords to play...
