Desperately tenuous claims to fame Pt 1 - I was the lead singer in a band called Seduction that was support to And Also The Trees at a gig in Birmingham (England) circa 1983.....

Weird that he likes S Bach, but there is no Skid Row mentionned.

Fairplay to the lad he likes a little cheesy rock (Alice Cooper)... I'm sure I read somewhere that he also likes The Doors.

I've always liked the Black Francis tour diary entry where he says,"Well, played with the Cure tonight and when they hit the stage they turned the other half of the P.A. on; whatever!" Sounds like Bobby Smith knew they would more than likely blow The Cures' asses right off the stage. Or maybe his band has to be louder than the opener to give more dramatic effect to his tousled hair (which seems to be carefully styled to look messy) and sloppily applied lipschtick.

I doubt R. Smith, et al, were directly responsible for the PA situation. That kind of thing happens a lot, and while it is lame, I doubt that the headlining bandmembers are the ones to blame. At least not every time. Who knows though?

And as for Alice Cooper? Cheesy? Hardly. Especially not the earlier stuff anyway. There is a cheesy element to it I guess if you consider the theatrical direction I guess. But it's not anymore cheesy than Bowie or The New York Dolls if ya ask me.

hehe one of the funniest things about seeing the Pixies open for the Cure was realizing they played their entire set in alphabetical order...
