I'm sure you've noticed, or are about to notice that Frank Black has posted. Seems like it's really him to me, but I was wondering if anyone wanted to clarify how it came about, etc. Anyway, if it's him I look forward to good posts

I don't want to take any credit unless it's due, buuut...

I used to be in The Bennies. I'm still really good friends with Jeremy (guitar, vocals, songwriting genius) and I regularly talk to him. He was going to call FB about the tour to clarify a few things, and I asked him to tell him about the this site to see if he wanted to be involved in any way. He said no, but we could do whatever we wanted. I guess he wanted to see what it was all about, so he came here and registered and you know the rest.

they'll most definitely be opening the philly show. They're honestly a really really good band (which is why I moved from MI to PA to join them). Jeremy has whatever "it" is when it comes to writing songs...he's amazing. Their last album, Fossil Record, was produced by the infamous Steve Albini. It was recorded in 2000, so the songs aren't very recent. His latest work is a lot more advanced, really...They're really good, trust me (Frank really digs em...check out http://www.musictoday.com/interact/chat/fblack.asp). If you want a preview of some of their stuff, check out www.mp3.com/thebennies .

Hmm, power pop/garage rock. I guess that's the best way to describe it. The vocal style is very unique (jeremy has a unique voice that some like, some don't like..)

I listened to a couple of the tracks, I can't say I'm too crazy about his vocals but the songs are pretty cool so far.
