I've been following this fascinating British attempt to get a 'cheap as chips' lander onto Mars. Apparently it will touch down on Christmas Day. All about it here:

Will it get there?
Will it work?
Will they find life on Mars??

In response to the topic question: Not if NASA has anything to do with it. How come they are gonna use a Blur tune? Should be FB for sure...

Will they find life on Mars?? probably not but i still hope so.
ps:why blur?what a lame musical taste.they could choose something more appropriate like david bowie.but i guess i should be grateful that they didn't choose oasis or something.

I wish Noel & Liam Gallagher were pilots of this spaceship (one way only).

I enjoyed the NASA engineers that commented on this saying "we wish them luck...and they'll need it." and "I think they'll find this is harder than they thought". Geeks can be such spiteful folk when it comes to professional pride...

Well, I work with the daughter of the lead scientist Prof. Pillinger. He became friends with the members of Blur, and with the artist Damien Hirst among others who expressed an interest, in order to raise the profile of the mission. I gather that it was the only way he could get funding (being British, funding for our scientists just about stretches to a pocket calculator and 3 pens per PhD).

I was hoping it would actually look like a beagle dog. hmmm. Or david Bowie embossed on to the top of it. hehe. Bowie goes to Mars! He could teach any life there to play guitar and sing! A bowie Planet!!!wow!
I have way to much of an imagination.
