What are you talking about? Gavin's secret mixes or the Planet Of Sound EP mix? I really like the latter. Anyone noticed how Frank's voice on it sounds a lot like the voice he has nowadays? It's like he recorded it yesterday.
well all the secret mix turns out to be, is the songs out of phase. Rip a song from trompe then use an audio editing program (if you have one) to invert the left track waveform, then mix the song down to mono. It cancels out the things that are panned dead center, if i remember correctly. I compared the secret mix navajo know to what I just described and they are the same.
edit - I think you can invert either side right or left, but only do one
how come on subbaculcha the vox switches between kim and bf? or is this inherent when inverting? the cd i have includes brackish boy - so i assumed they were acetate tests or quick mixes, even though they sound like home program editing as described above.
