It works using technology called 'BitTorrent' - that just downloads a big file from lots of people at the same time, so you don't get a bottleneck from all people trying to download from one source. You need a BitTorrent client (I use this one: http://ei.kefro.st/projects/btclient/). Once you've installed the client, find something you like on Sharingthegroove.com and click the link that's a something.torrent file, and the BitTorrent client should start downloading it.
Most things on sharingthegroove are compressed in Shorten (*.shn) format - if you're not familiar with it, this is lossless compression, but therefore much larger than mp3. You'll need a piece of software to convert *.shn files to *.wav files to burn to CD (http://www.etree.org/mkw.html)
Have fun

I think I succeeded in downloading this show yesterday, but I can't do anything with the SHN files. It appears to be the complete 441 Mgs, but checking the MD5 simply reports that none of the files can be opened, and if I try expanding them (this is with shorten on Mac OS x.2) it reports "no magic number"... If I try opening the BitTorrent file it 'checks existing file' up to 100%, and then stays in 'connecting to peers' without doing anything.
Does anybody know what I can do to fix or would anybody simply be willing to do an actual trade for this show?

if it checks the file up to 100% most probably you have the files but not the codec to play them. maybe you should try to convert the .shn files into .wav and then burn a cd.i use this freeware program:
Michael K. Weise\mkw Audio Compression Toolkit
but i'm not sure if it works on macs.check this page for faq and links to bt resoures for all platforms:
