Anyone know if there's still tickets for this gig? What are the chances of getting one on the door?
I'm in the area anyway...

Hey, i'm going and have a spare ticket. If you want to meet up before hand you can have it at cost, i can't remeber exactly what i paid for it now, about £15 i think.

The doors open at 7 but i won't leave work till late so i could meet you about 8. I don't think there much chance of finding each other outside the venue, unless you scan a picture so i'll recognise you.

No access to a scanner, d'oh!
Have to say meet in a pub somewhere. I don't really know Sheperds Bush, so make it simple!

I don't have a scanner either and i don't know Shepards Bush particulary well, i think there is a pub next door on the left we could meet in there.
I'll wear purple cords and a flamimg lips t- shirt so look out for the blonge wearing those things and drinking large amounts of vodka.
Or we could wear carnations.

Gracie, Cheeseman. I've just bought a ticket and will be driving down on Monday night from Lincoln. I'll try to keep a look out for you. I think the 'pub on the left' was mentioned on another thread.

Cool. Lets try and get everyone to meet, and scare the pub staff. Bunch of crazy aussies. I'll probably wear my rip-off FB T-shirt and some rank jeans.
Chances are you'd be safe talking to anyone in a FB T-shirt, actually.

It was meant to be blonde, or yellow if you like .
I'll also be wearing my glasses because the smoke drys out my contact lenses. Try and look as obvious as possible and i'll try and find you.

Pub next door to Empire. Okey doke. Committed to memory...now!

I'm often mistaken for George Clooney

but, just in case you don't recognise my film star looks I'll be wearing black jeans, blue denim jacket and...maybe a Faith No More T shirt or if that's in the wash then probably a plain blue/black t shirt.

Just under 6 foot, dark hair, 5 o'clock shadow, broken nose, baggy eyes that sort of thing.

Well. I have the enviable choice of 150 miles on the A1 or the M1. Both crap, both with roadworks, both with pissing down rain. I'm leaving at 5pm (about an hour from now) which will give me a max of 4 hours (hoping foolishly to do it in 3). Will see you all in the pub if possible otherwise at the gig, although I'm upstairs which is a bit of a bugger. Might try to swap with someone beforehand and pay a little extra for a ground floor ticket.

Woah! What a gig - I personally think it blew the Astoria show out of the water.

Songs played:

whiskey in your shoes
monkey gone to heaven
nimrod's son
caribou
where is my mind
freedom rock
bullet
robert onion
black rider
666
abstract plain
headache
velvety
goodbye lorraine
horrible day
nadine
this old heartache
the new house of the pope
when will happiness find me again?
end of miles
cold heart of stone
massif centrale
how you went so far
farewell bend
jane the queen of love
hermaphroditos
i need peace
cactus

One of the best gigs i've been too.

I'm weary, but happy!

Frank Black is in a very select group of artists that I would consider worthy of driving 320 miles in an evening. Got back at 1.15am (whoops, heavy right foot).

The band were stunning. Still full of energy after a long tour. The crowd danced throughout the show and seemed pretty content (totally wigged out to Where is your mind?).

I have to report that I didn't like their live version of 666 (not too keen on the recorded version either for that matter). Otherwise, it was nigh on perfect.

Didn't get to meet up with Gracie, Cheeseman et al. Maybe next time (with pink carnation).

Best FB gig I've ever been to...
(well, out of 3)

I was worried we wouldn't have Freedom Rock, but in the very end we got it

Nice to see people jumping not only on the Pixies songs...

Awesome, awesome, awesome. They're playing 'I need Peace', Rich Gilbert is playing with his teeth, the 2 Dave's are playing back to back, and my grin is like

Massif Centrale is a fantastic opener. The only way I think the night could have been better for me was if they closed with Manitoba, but let's not split hairs, after Franks comments on here about encores, I just feel lucky that he felt that he deserved to play one for us - and what an encore. Initially just Frank (acoustic), Rich and Dave McC for Farewell Bend, then it all becomes a blur, cause at some point in the encore the full band played Freedom Rock and I went nuts.

END OF MILES? ARE YOU SURE?

they don't play that one very often, do they?
have they done it this tour before?

and what about Southbound Bevy, they played it at the eindhoven gig and totally did not expect that. have they done it on a regular basis this tour?

what about a Euro tour database (like the radiohead website: 58hours.com), where you can see where and when they played which song.

Apparently End Of Miles was played in Bristol, can anyone confirm this? I wish he'd play it more often, I love it.
