Okay, this is insane.

http://homepage3.nifty.com/nura/images/moSMB3.wmv

It's an 11 minute video of a guy starting, and finishing SM3.

Sick.

Damn! I saw a video on suprnova.org of a guy finishing in one hour and something, and laughed at it because I can beat it in about 27 minutes. I could probably get it down to 20, but 11 minutes is ridiculous.

I can masturbate to orgasm in less than 11 minutes and it's a lot more fun.

Have a nice Thanksgiving, everyone.

ok, now I know I can get it to 20 minutes or less, provided the english version isn't different. Anybody have any crazy videos for mario world for snes? my record is 14 minutes on there. My new goal is under 20 minutes in smb 3, and 12 or under on smw, but I don't have a super nintendo right now. wish me luck.

I only watched the first few levels since I'm on dialup and could only get about 5 seconds of action before the thing froze up for about 10 seconds and then would continue for 5 seconds, freeze, repeat. But I can't believe what I'm seeing. This person runs straight forward and uses every single thing in their path as a means to move forward more, bouncing off koopa troopas, goombas, etc. It's crazy. I have to wonder when this was recorded. If it's in recent years, then they've probably been rehearsing for this since the game came out in, what, 1990? It's completely ridiculous, but also completely admirable.

wait. 14 minutes for Super Mario World? From the start? How? You're talking about the game that came with the SNES when it was originally released, right? How could you beat it in 14 minutes?

I never owned a SNES, and Mario World is the only Mario I've missed out on. Well, and anything out there for Gamecube, I guess...

I clicked the link and it said file not found.. maybe it would have popped up but i was too impatient. They are talking about Super Mario 3, Tartar. Which is a regular Nintendo game. The Super Mario World came with SNES, and that would probably be impossible to beat in 11 minutes because I don't think there is warping.

I am about to buy a Gamecube, because right now it comes with a special Zelda disc with 4 classic Zelda games on it, including Legend of Zelda from regular Nintendo. It's only 99.99 right now.

Yeah, super mario world for snes. Well I can't explain it exactly, but you go through the 1st castle, and after that you use the secret exits on the next 2 levels, then you go through the star zone place until you get to the star that takes you right next to the castle. Of course, I played that game 2 hours a day for about 2 years, and still play it regularly so I don't get hit or die.

oh, and that zelda disc only has zelda I, II (for nes), ocarina of time and majora's mask (for n64). no link to the past or the master quest thing that was on the other disc, but it's still a deal.

I think you misunderstood me Proverbial Cereal. The person above my post said they could beat Super Mario World in 14 minutes.

That video is pretty unbelievable. It's also unbelievable to think that Super Mario World can be beaten in 14 minutes. I'd love to see that.

That's as good as the Quake 3 demo of the guy beating Xaero on Nightmare mode. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean.

Ohhh. Ok. Mangykid CAN beat super mario world in 14 minutes. I must have missed that post. I was wondering how 11 minutes got changed to 14 minutes...

And I totally forgot about Star Road in Super Mario World. That would allow someone to get to level 8 quite fast. So I take back what I said about it being impossible to beat in 14 minutes.

I wasn't sure exactly which Zelda games that disk had, but I knew Zelda 1 was on there and that in itself is awesome because that's the only Zelda I've ever really gotten in to. It's probably my favorite video game ever. I think I'll in a couple months I'll be due for another round. Hopefully I'll have gamecube cuz playing it on my Nintendo is not reliable. The save game function always gets reset.

Hmm... actually, as it turns out, that was a run done on an emulator with extensive use of save state (the guy's webpage has the emulator movie file on it). It's a strategy showcase, not an actual gaming accomplishment. It's still cool to watch, but it wasn't actually the result of incredible skill and practice.

Making videogame movies is annoying, but it doesn't take a professional (I'm certainly not one). You need to buy a capture card, and then you can use some free software (like VirtualDub) to capture and compress the movie in DivX format.

It's nice to see pure perfection. It makes me never want to touch a video game again because I'll never come close.

My thing was to beat Ninja Gaiden without getting hit.
