i'd like to know about those David Bowie/Frank Black things too.. i know Frank did "Heroes" for Bowie's 50th Birthday Celebration.. but I remember hearing that there are some recordings of the two of them rehearsing other songs together (Bowie songs). 4 to be exact. anyone know about this?
i don't remember Waiting For The Man being one, tough I guess it's possible since Bowie covered it, and they're both Lou Reed fans. |

In the original broadcast, Lou Reed did "I'm waiting for the man" w/ Bowie. Bowie definetly did fashion and scary monsters w/ frank. (http://www.teenagewildlife.com/wcgi-bin/dcinfo.wcgi?date=19970109 Here's a link to a site that lists a bbc show that aired a rehearsal for the show (scroll down til you hit 1997). Nuthin there bout frank. Ok, this site: http://www.bowiewonderworld.com/tours/tourvar.htm lists a bunch of rehearsal dates before the show, but no track lists. I can't find anything else on google, and it seems that Bowie fans have posted everything there is to know about him and his music, so if there was some other session done w/ Black and Bowie, i'd think it'd be out there. And i can't find shit. SOmeone with more faith in this than I should post in the Kings COurt. |

The 1997 Bowie 50th birthday gig 2xCD often crops up for sale on e-bay. Insofar as I can make out, FB only appears on 'Scary Monsters' and 'Fashion' though.
