Hello everybody !
Great show in Lyon yesterday evening.
The band played about 90' without any break (we didn't find it too short at all).
It was very impressive to see how coherent was the set divided in two distinct parts with the first very quick and/or powerfull (astonishing version of Six sixty six, Black letter days, I love your brain, I need peace, Hermaphroditos...) and after, a different mood ( starting with New house of pope, When will happiness, Headache...).

The set was:
Nadine
New house of the pope
Massif central (first encore)
When will happiness find me again
The Snake
Black Rider
Black letter Days
How you went so far
Jane the queen of love
Velvety
Robert Onion
Bullet
Hermaphroditos
I need peace
Six sixty six
I love your brain
I want Rock & Roll
Headache
Freedom Rock (second encore)
Velouria
Where is my mind
Caribou
Nimrod's son
Monkey gone to heaven

Great moments among many others were the slow songs that sound very nice live (as New house of the pope, Jane the queen of love, When will happiness find me again, How you went so far), two Dog in the sand songs (Bullet and Robert Onion),the five Pixies songs (Nimrod's son really great, Where is my mind sung by the audience)...

Opened with Nadine, closed with Black rider. Two super energic encores (Massif central, Freedom Rock).

Would like to have other opinions of Frank Black fans who saw that gig .

A la prochaine...

No cactus I see,

There isn't much diversity on this tour according to the setlists

but the setlists are so good it doesn't really matter

hi,
I was there yesterday, great show, great pleasure but the sound in this shitty place was really bad. It could be so better (24 €, the most expensive in France). The bass sounded very bad, the snare drum too. Dave's guitar too loud than Frank voice.

I think that the big star of the show (except frank) was Rich, very funny and generous, this guy likes a lot to be on stage and that's great. I love this man.

The king of mistakes was Dave. Even friends who don't know Fb have noticed it.

Frank was ok, and happy to be there too, i must admit that i was a bit afraid, but this man is not Iggy Pop and I don't care, he gave us another kink of show. I think i could be more strict about the sound, because people who don't know the songs are sometimes lost (I want rock'n roll was very dirty).

But I can say i really (friends too) enjoyed the show, and I will remember it 'til I die.

Any photos ?

I've got nothing to say about Serafin, I don't like it.

Complete setlist (correct order) (No offense to you, Oldlyon):

Nadine
Black letter days
Cactus
How you went so far
Caribou
666
Monkey gone to heaven
I love your brain
I need peace
Hermaphroditos
Velvety
The Snake
I want Rock n roll
Velouria
New house of the pope
John the revelator
Jane the Queen of Love
Headache
Robert Onion
When will happiness find me again
Where is my mind
Nimrod’s son
Bullet
Black rider

Encore
Massif Centrale
Freedom Rock

The gig was great, as usual. They are really professional, able to perform at the same level for every show !!
I agree with Atomicbart about the sound quality although it did not disturb me that much, except during I want R n R that I only recognized after quite a long time (about 45 seconds...)
Frank fell down during I need peace with moving backwards (his feet bumped into the low amps located behind him). He was okay and even joked about it, doing the same move again and sitting on stage while playing.....

I will post pictures soon...

It was my second FB gig and as everybody seems to agree it was great though too loud. My ears are not completely healed... But wasn't it a bit short ? I think when i saw him for the first time during the Dog in the Sand tour the show was longer...
By the way was it recorded ?

hi everybody

I agree with all the ones who thaught the sound was too loud (much too loud!!) so loud that sometimes we could hardly hear FB's voice, or recognise some songs just with the intro. and i also felt like it was a little short, especially because to me the set seemed to get better and better with each song (more fun, more people singing and dancing... but i'm used to the cold and passive lyonnais public).

we went to the fnac in the afternoon, and i found it increadibly great!!!! the sound was excellent, with just his voice and the electro acoustic guitar. moreover he's such a nice guy! so simple and nice. (and very polite and patient with the so called interviewer; who's that *** ??!)

as a conclusion i can only say it was one of the greatest days of my life.

Hello all!

Nice to "meet" other Frank Black fans!

The sound was maybe too loud, but I really enjoyed the show. I am not sorry I spent 24 euros on it, because if there is one concert in the world that is worth this price, it's a concert of "the man".

It was really great!
