So first of all its like blizzard here! And do you think I can find the winterboots, no! So I'm late for work, have to let the car warm up and my freaking ebrake busts, so I tried to find a relatively flat place to let it run so it doesn't roll away, but I can't see shit! So I finally get on my way and the out of the blue my windshield wiper snaps! And do you think its the passenger side wiper, no!
Sorry, just ranting a bit, the first real snow is always depressing. |

Snow sounds good to me! Especially when you're living in a globally warmed UK. Hardly snows at all these days - my kids turn into whirling dervishes when they see the first snowflakes. It's no fun trying to make snowballs out of 1.5mm of soggy snow, I can tell you.
Sorry to hear about the windscreen wiper though - they're physically impossible to install. I always wimp out and pay for the local auto shop to put them in and charge me for the privilege. |

Hey, at least if it's a clear night tonight, you may get one whopper of an Aurora Borealis!
We came really close to moving to mid-northern Alaska a couple years ago - I guess I'm really glad that "ping" didn't last. |

I guess we do get some kickass Aurora Borealis, but what a price.
Good thing I did find the skipants for the kids for Friday :( When kids go trick or treating here you rarely know what they are! |

I have (not so) fond memories of having to put a snowsuit on under my costumes over the years. I remember one year in particular, I had a really wicked Skeletor costume, it was a full body type thing, like cover-alls, and it had a mask and everything. Of course, as it always does, it snowed on Halloween, so my mom made my put on my skipants and winter coat. Instead of going as Skeletor, I looked like a big blue Michelin Man. |

Is there such a thing as a dervish that doesn't whirl? I mean, are the two terms forever married because I'd like to think there's a dervish out there with the ambition to sit still. Actually, the last whirling dervish I saw was in the film "Time Bandits" (David Warner and the cowboys at the end) but I'm sure there have been others.

A very little bit of snow today, which melted on contact with pavement (Malk and the boys). Nothing like your blizzard though, Carolyn. Enjoy! |

I hate snow. I used to like it when I was a kid, but now I just find it annoying. Nowhere near as bad as ice, though.

Actually, my personal favourite is every few years when we seem to get three or four days of snow in the middle of summer. I can remember at least three August snowfalls in my lifetime, and the first time I ever went to Lake Louise - on Canada Day - was one of the craziest blizzards I've ever seen. Then in '97 we didn't get a single flake until 9:00 on December 31! I don't even notice insane weather anymore, this climate has absolutely numbed me.
My one bitch: this year is the windiest I can EVER remember. But somehow it seems I was saying the same last year. Ah geez....I can't believe I'm talking about the damn weather. I'm done.

I hear ya when it comes to the wind, geez you'd think we were in Lethbridge or something.
Ach, one morning ain't gonna ruin my week, but thanks for the sentiment.
How come you didn't tell me you were going to Ween before?! What did you think of the Chilis? I thought it was pretty lame except that my son had so much fun. They should've played more old stuff, enough with the radio hits already. |

I thought I told you I was going to Ween. Oh well....
I had a blast at the Chilis show because I absolutely bow down to Mike Watt and I thought his band's performance was amazing. As far as the Chili Peppers, I prefer the old stuff too and while they were better than I was expecting, their song selection was pretty disappointing. I bet they play pretty much the same set every night. They looked like they were having more fun playing with Watt. Although I say they were better than I had expected, it definitely wasn't $62 better.

Yuk, I had to pay over $100 for my tickets, bastards! You're right about Mike Watt though.
Well how was I supposed to get my drink at Ween, when I don't know who you are? Oh you'll buy me a drink yet! |

Yeah, definitely. You can spend your work hours luring Watt back for a club show and I'll buy you drinks till the cows come home, go to Japan, and come back again.
