Frank only seems to sing the 'st' bit of star. Did he make a mistake or was he doing the old half a word trick like in Velvety, where he sings Californ... Hmmmmmmm

It sounds like a mistake to me but I don't have a clue.

I kinda feel it was intentional, on behalf of the character in the song...he cant seem to fully lock onto anything rational (due to an emotional trauma), so he's reaching out as far as he can....all the way to religion. But even there he cant seem to commit to any ideal...therefor when admiring his muse (of the moment), his split concsious cries out 'you soul star', but his heart isn't 100% there. So it's clipped and stalled...

That's how I took it.

No..I think Frank was very cognizant of this choice.

my bet is on mistake or maybe they erased it because it was out of tune (again that would make it a mistake)

They wouldn't have erased it because of their 'no edits' policy, so since it was a great take, I think that it was minor mistake that they could live with rather than re-record it.

Good question, Hatchetman. I believe he is showing how hard he is trying. Since that line does not say '...trying so hard,' he implies it through his pronunciation. I think he wanted it cut and dry first line 'I'm working...' last line '...trying so hard' but his lyrics did not match there so he preformed '...trying so hard' in another dimension. He wanted to say '3' but instead he said '2+9-7+6-7*2+3/3.' Can I get a witness?

I don't know why, but I think I understand exactly what you are saying. I seem to be experiencing difficulty with my dimensional frame of reference lately. Ow. ow. ow. ow...

I think the mic cut out right when he said it and they only fixed it before the chorus. Theres this bit in between them that plays 3 times. I'm guessing they just all twigged and filled in while they were waiting for the mic to be fixed. Catholics work in really slow motion.
