I want to know whats the best way to do it! The program ive got doesnt allow it(sonicstage). I know there are a few programs that uu've got to pay for but that sucks.
How do you guys do it???

There are a fair few programs that do it, and you do have to pay for them. However, many of them can be trialled for a period before you have to buy. I just find a new one to try each time I need to record.
Most recently I've been trying CoolEdit2000 (30 day trial). Also pretty useful is Cyberecorder (30 day trial) which records streaming audio.
I picked up a cracked version of the professional program Soundforge at a computer swap meet for about $10. you can do all kinds of fancy stuff with your recording, though i've just been normalising and equalising them thus far.
