This tab doesn't exist anywhere. There's some weird stuff going on in the song...if there are any guitar gurus out there who could lend a hand, that would be fantastic.
Also, if anyone has any MP3s of the Pixies performing "Palace of the Brine" live and is able to hook me up, I would very much appreciate it. I'd like to hear how they played it live.

I have an mp3, but I have no idea how to get it to you. I'd like to help, though. I really would.
As for the tab, the bass is possibly playing some d, g, d progression while the guitar plays some d, e, d progression in the same rhythm. There's that little two-note sequence in between each line of the lyrics, which I believe are the notes a and b. In between "the shrine" and "the sea monkey", the guitar plays the notes d, f#, c, f (it's really weird). And the chorus...well I think the first two notes the bass plays is g and a, while the guitar goes along with the vocal melody. I think the notes are e, f#, e, d, a. In that order. The bass might go to f next, but I don't think so.
Is it just me, or does the beginning of this song sound exactly like the beginning of "I Need Peace"?
Oh, and by the way, this poor and rudimentary excuse for a tab probably is not even right anyway. My guitar might not have even been in tune when I figured it out.
Quite funny, Derek. |

You could email the track to me...I think I have 10-25MB of mailbox space. There's definitely some weird stuff going on in this track. I have the BBC version and it's played half a step down from the album version.

I'm not sure if the song tunes down half step, but try something with these chords with it tuned down...
(I don't have a guitar so this is from memory)
e--------------
b--------------
g--------------
d--2---4---6---
a--0---0---0---
e--------------
I hope those are the ones I meant to type

I worked this out tonight. Try it and see how it sounds. Just drop D, don't tune down 1/2 step.

No problem dude. I don't even know if it's correct (tuning/exact chords) but I think most of the notes are in there and it will suffice for now.
Frank Black himself should lend his 2 cents about the tuning, etc. Though he has probably forgotten. He claimed to have forgotten the Jaina Blues tuning already. ha.
