I thought Serafin did a good job of supporting FB&C on this current UK tour. Dya agree? Will they be playing for the full tour? |

FB&C and Serafin were a bad match in my opinion. Then again, you don't want the support band showing you up..
I woulda prefered some old smoky jazz-country-blues solo guitarist/singer fella. I saw Eels a few years back, and they had a solo woman on geetar and vox, real nice stuff, held my attention longer than any "alt rock by numbers" support i've seen.

I agree with Doog. a friend of mine commented that they were probably targeted towards the younger end of Frank Black's market, and that isn't his strongest area of support. Too much like Placebo, to be honest

I thought they were junk. So loud just be loud and when the bass player crossed himself, I thought I was going to die laughing. Puh-leeze. |

They're also doing the support in Belgium, so I'm guessing they do the whole Euro tour then.
Even if you're Michael or Janet: it's a sad, sad planet. |

How did they get hooked up doing so many shows w/ FB&TC? Anybody know?
I hope the bass player crossing himself was tongue-in-cheek, this christian-alt-rock thing is starting to freak me out. |

Serafin sucks big time! They are so, so , so loud, and with only one good song with "I'm Ordinary" as a chorus.
But I've never seen Frank with a decent back up band. I wish David Lovering would've come along.

Are you saying the Catholics suck? Thats a controversial and frankly dangerous position to take here, my boy. And is that a subtle dig at Scott of the Boutier? On dodgy ground...

I must have been dead tired writing that. I meant 'warm up' not back up, obviously. |

I have seen serafin 3 times now (never deliberately) and I quite enjoyed them in Manchester they have a few good songs. The planned 'craziness' during the last song is as gay as their bassist. I must point out that I have several gay friends and have nothing against gays. apl4eris im guessin its whoever stumps up the most money will get the tour dates. I could however be wrong.

Yeah - that would make sense. But somebody's got to do a little editing, to avoid too much disparity in music styles and audience age/taste.
Huh, I just asked my husband, who used to do bookings and was a roadie for a few bands several years ago. Apparently, at least in the cases he was familiar with, the opening band's agent contacts the headliner's agent/manager or the band themselves, and asks if they want to tour together. If it's copacetic, they shop the booking agents to set up the gigs on the tour. I don't know if that's true in this case, of course. I'm sure the music concert industry has a lot of variables. Anybody have any details on this kinda stuff? Just curious... |
