Frank Black is a prodigy - there's no other word to describe someone who so relentlessly releases great record after great record. First as frontman for the Pixies, then solo, and now, half a dozen albums into his work with the Catholics, the former Black Francis shows no signs of slowing down. Nobody has done such a great job of updating country music either. And I've said it before, but nobody else, aside from maybe Mike Ness or Hank Williams III, has managed to release so many country albums and still remain cool. Black is a model of how to age gracefully after helping define music for a generation of indie alternative bands - he's fat, bald and still kickin' ass, singing about babes and booze, drugs and the devil. Add a talented support cast, write some killer tunes that had me singing along after only the second listen ("Horrible Day" and "Manitoba" are standouts, and you've got a recipe for Show Me Your Tears. Releasing all your albums in Canada on a Canadian indie label is just icing on the cool cake. Kudos to Frank for showing us how it should be done. -Jon Muldoon

They do loads of music stuff. they also reviewed the two albums last year, but I think that was in SBC Skataboard, their sister publication. They are still considering doing an interview with Frank when he returns to Canada next.
