God what a gig..I couldn't believe it when they came back out and played Where is my mind? Set was brilliant. Caribou (Which was brilliant), Cactus and Velouria were the other Pixies songs played. Headache I also remember as being extra brilliant!

I also met the man himself at the Tower Records instore gig. Got autograph, a photo with him and had a little chat..excellent. The instore gig weren't half bad either. He played Mr Grieves at it which was great!

Only thing that would of made the day any better was if I had picked up a FB&TC T-Shirt. I didn't see them on sale at the gig?!?

Was that meant to be an encore? The set seemed quite short compared to the temple bar gig, maybe it was just my intoxication. I'm not complaining anyway, fantastic show :) I got to the tower records thing too but all I could see was heads. I'm still pretty chuffed considering I had no idea he was doing an in store performance, I was actually heading to Tower for a blank MD to record the show. Unfortuantely the pissy little elctronic shit box didnt record a thing. I'm seriously thinking of sueing aiwa for emotional and mental distress. They can pay for the hole I punched in the wall too, fuckers

Give 1000 monkey's 1000 typewriters and you're gonna be reading bullshit for the rest of your life.

Such an amazing gig, and a big thanks to Bazza and Mike and everybody else who made it a cool night out! Sadly I just about missed getting into Tower Records, got to see the back of Franks head bobbing around, Bazza and Mike the lucky dogs got their stuff sighed, plus got photographed with him. I made my way up to Vicar Street afterwards to meet Bazza, and as I'm standing their who should get out of a taxi but the man himself(no not Bazza , Frank), so I gave him a little hello and told him I was looking forward to the gig, to which he gave me a little eyebrow acknowledgement which was enough to make my week! I could'nt give you a proper set list but he opened with Dirty Old Town and this is just a general list of what I remember:
Freedom Rock
I Want Rock & Roll
All my Ghosts
I Need Peace
Headache
Jane the Queen of Love
Cold Heart of Stone
Nadine
Massif Central
The Farewell Bend
Veloria
Cactus
Velvety
Caribou
Where is my Mind?
Abstract Plain
New House of the Pope
True Blue(maybe I just imagined that cause I've singing it in my head?) Theres more stuff he played I think off SMYT and BLD but I cant recall now sorry!
Bazza and Mike will have an offical set list I'm sure and tell me I've just imagined he played all those songs . Brackish Girl, we were looking out for you in your Flaming Lips t-shirt but no one spotted you unfortunatly, and as you know yourself the place was absoultly jammed. Again ,a great gig, it's the second time I've seen him so I was'nt in such an awe struck coma as the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it this time round (plus there was no really annoying moshing just the nice jumpy upy downy type). Rich Gilbert was brillant as usual, looking like a gutair straddling Andy Warhol, and their new drummer was really impressive as well. Frank seemed in a good mood and really lapped up the crowds energy but did'nt really say much, but he still seemed in really good form which was great.

Excellent show, my ears are still ringing :)
Almost shat myself when they started Freedom Rock... one of my very faverite songs :D
Although I was unfortunate enough to have some 7-foot mongo cut infront of me and stand there all night while I got to stare at his armpit for most of the show... had a really good spot and everything.
Anyway, very cool gig... come back soon!

In Tower Records when it was my turn to have a photo and get my shit autographed and stuff some radio guys were interviewing FB - they were asking him about Pixies reunion..so I kind of unpolitely butted in with a very drunk sounding.."fuck the pixies reunion what you got now with the catholics is great".

Radio guys recorded that too..hehe. FB were then like "well guys exactly what he says - well thanks u saved me from answering that question again." I think i'll remember that moment forever to be honest.

Really excellent gig! The crowd were fantastic, we were still roaring our fool heads off 10 minutes after they'd split!
I usually skip 'Robert Onion' on album but it was amazing live. God bless em for keeping the ticket price down too, Nick Cave tickets were 54 euros!!

what an amazing day. i couldnt believe the crowds at tower records. as TWR said - i got autographed and had my photo taken (like a 26 year old going to see santa). as for the gig - well kudos to the support act - they were great. FB was amazing - and it was great that he went almost an hour without playing pixies tunes. the crowd were very responsive (albeit more so for the pixies material - obviously) and the new stuff was fantastic. i also got to talk to dave P and the drummer (joe?) after the gig. great guys - and they signed my album too (even though dave P said 'i dont play on that record!.'
also special mention to rich gilbert - you kick ass sir.

I'm such a retard ahemm! I'll never post a set list again, I swear! How did I think he played those songs? Well I think it was down to talking about Western Star before the gig and I get the tempo change mixed up between I need Peace and So hard... even though their totally different songs and on different albums??? and I did'nt even have that much to drink beforehand?

Hope he didn't have to q for 2 hours on O'Connell St for his cab!

Great to meet up with yourself and the rest - I'm a bit late jumping in this thread having spent the last 2 days in the Betty Ford Clinic.

We managed to get more beer at the Hotel - a bit hazy after that.

As you all said gig was mezmoric and the whole Tower Records thing and after-gig boozing made it a great night.

Hope Londinium is as good.

okay, this was my friday.
get ready to be picked up at two, not picked up til 2.25...
5.40-arrive at tower to a huge crowd, and see frank is still in there! yay! i might get an autograph and a photo! wait for 20 mins, watching the other queue of folks get in, and then they locked the door. the locked it! i was crushed, and had to stand there watching the man sign things for a further 10 minutes of so, while he posed with the tower folks for photos and 'hid' behind a stall so we might go away. then he was standing by the counter, and (weeee!) we made eye-contact THREE TIMES!!! then he walked out, and i just to say hi as least annoyingly as possible. then he was standing waiting for a taxi, and about 15 of us stood 'around' him and tried to grab a gawk. i was gonna ask if he would sign something, but someone else asked him and frank said 'ask me a bit later, okay?' or some such, so i left good enough alone.
then i went and ate a chicken burger at BK and felt sick.
then i head over to vicar st. to meet up with some folks, and of course, they're late. look for merch. none.
friends come, and we watch support group. the guitarist is kinda crazy!
some people in the front row go out to get drinks and my friend pushes me up so we can take the spaces(right below dave p!).
dave p. comes out to tune his pedal steel. i'm the only one that seems to notice and i try to say hi above the noisey talking people. no responce.
great, great show takes place, with lots of people trying to kill me by offering me fags(and gosh the guy beside me had a lot of hair!).
we wait to see if they'll come out again...nope. it was pretty short.
we go out to see if any tshirts have been put out...nope. godamn!
friends leave, and i go back in, to see dave p. signing stuff! i pull out the cover of smyt and pistelero, making sure not to pull out FB&Cs and insult him by thinking he's lyle.
he doesn't play on pistelero. he says 'i didn't even play on this record!'(bazza, did dave sign your frank s/t record? i think i saw you! you were saying 'i can't believe i'm 26 and i'm trying to get autographs!' it mightn't of been you. do ya wear glasses?)
great great night.

Bullet
Mr Grieves
Abstract plain
Velouria
Caribou
Nadine
Fare Thee Well ?
Headache
Goodbye Lorraine

well, perhaps you weren't wearing glasses. you're shorter than i thought you'd be! anyhoo, i didn't even iclude in my post that some guy started shouting that i wore a pyjama top. i thought he was just messing around so i flashed a smile back, but he was actually saying it very aggresively. and my friend really wanted mcdave's hat, and at the end it looked like he was teasing her with it cos he waved it about when he bowed.

Bazza - remember that girl next to the stage trying to get Dave's sig - saying 'Dave..please sign this....I'm dying'? Worked though!

I thought my wife handing him a note saying 'where are you staying?' was a bit strong - but I have chastised her!

Yes it was a great gig as per usual.I thought the jokey walking off after the first tune was inspired. All the new songs sounded great, especially massif centrale.Rich was in inspired form, doing a passable impression of John Travolta.Of course the pixies tunes were great but I thought California Bound rocked.Joe is a fine replacement for Scott, he looks a bit like Ardal O'Hanlon from Father Ted.
All I can say to the rest of europe is enjoy!
