I don't think this one has been posted. There is no rating or date given, but it is their "top album", presumably of the month?:
Frank Black and the Catholics - Show Me Your Tears(Cooking Vinyl). Big Frank is on fire for this latest album, without doubt his most lyrically personal yet, with its title reportedly inspired by the first words his therapist said to him.
On the couch and with a divorce in the wings it is perhaps no surprise many of the songs here deal in women who have left him - "That girl left my poor heart in ruins" ( When Will Happiness Find Me Again?) - and women he has left - "Now she sends me perfumed letters/And I throw them all away" ( Goodbye Lorraine).
It is not all woman trouble though; Frank finds time to craft the sublime Everything Is New, at once a real life story of three tragic deaths and a wider reflection on sadness. "Everything is new when the sky is blue," he sings, leaving the unspoken question of what happens when it is not.
The record is bookmarked by the magnificently sleazy rocker Nadineand the rumbling Manitoba, a song more ominous than seven thin cows eating seven fat ones on your front lawn.
With the Doolitle-era Pixies thrash of Massif Centrale at the halfway point there is a sure-fire recipe for happiness in listening to these 13 country-tinged musical tears. JC

"seven thin cows eating seven fat ones" Truly a line of Biblical proportion. Literally.
