Can't stand the Manitoba intro. Skip it every time. My fave is End of Miles. To each his own, huh?

the Who Live in 1974 intro:
Announcement
setting a sad tragic tone that shifts into hopeful longing intro:
Man of Steel
..and good mosh pit rock-out intro:
Pie in the sky
Never realized how his intros are an aentity in themself! Maybe someone should compile an Intros only cd!

A dutch consumer-association program, I believe it was on the catholic network, had the intro of Man of Steel in one of it's show-items. That proofs it has a great intro
I love it

"Pray for the Girls". One of the greatest riffs ever written played on just the bass guitar begins the song, and I love how the other instruments come in one at a time (unless you count the vocals as an instrument). To be perfectly honest, I do not know why no one mentioned it yet. "Suffering" is pretty cool, too. I love the "yeah" at the beginning. Or is the "yeah" at the end of Steak 'n' Sabre? I would not know because I have the album on vinyl. |

I'm surprised no one has said San Antonio, TX. Also, How You Went So Far, Two Spaces, Every Time I go Around Here, Fazer Eyes, You Ain't Me, I Need Peace, This Old Heartache, and even though it is VERY short, I love the intro to My Favorite Kiss

I hate to say it (as FB is one of the only songwriters out there that never fails to impress me) but Blast Off is to my mind the worst intro I've ever heard. I love the actual song, but the start makes me cringe horribly and I just can't listen to it. What a really dodgey start to an otherwise great album. |

I saw Frank at the El Dorado Saloon here in Sacramento on the tour for the first Catolics album. He opened with Pong and right at the end of the intro (where the song kinda does the crescendo before it goes into high gear) he screamed in his trademark scream "WILD THIIIIIIIING!!!". A tip of the hat to the Troggs. It sure did make the whole show.

It's not really an intro, but I love that part in "the Vanishing Spies" with the subtle drumroll.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. Douglas Adams |

I love the intro to Blast Off. That intro really sucked me in; I don't think I've ever heard such a brilliantly mood setting intro. |
