What did you fellas think of Lynchs 'On The Air'? I thought it was hilarious! The crazy stuff Blinky saw!! I nearly wet myself one evening when in Blinky's POV you see a doll slowly rise and fall to the sound of a slide whistle. My God, it was genius! Or maybe it was the mushrooms?

Hmm, I didn't see it yet spook - where can one take a gander at this 'On the Air' you speak of?
I just saw Dune for the umpteenth time tonight. Boy howdy what an incredible director. Unfortunately my hubby picked up the regular version, and not the drector's cut. I had forgotten Jack Nance was in it - happy surprise!

Just found a link to the Twin Peaks'-related Simpsons' episode. Sadly, another thing I apparently missed. Egadz!
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Boulevard/1884/pg11.html "THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS" TWIN PEAKS STYLE:
Pete (in a rousing voice): "On the 12th day of Christmas, my sweetheart gave to me: Twelve cups of coffee." Lucy: "Eleven cherry pies." Bobby: "Ten drooling Leos." BOB: "NINE OWLS LURKING!" Cooper: "Eight dancing midgets." Bobby: "Seven one-armed men." Pete: "Six fish in a percolator." Lucy: "Five dozen donuts. What?!" Cooper: "Four talking logs." BOB: "THREE POSSESSED SOULS." Bobby: "Two secret diaries." Pete: "And a body, DEAD, wrapped in plastic."

Thanks much spook for the info on that! - I will definitely be looking into that too. Been jonesing for Lynch stuff for a while. This may be an inordinately silly question, and I base it on a small summary of the show I just read, but does "On the Air" bear any resemblance to "UHF"? Maybe UHF on acid? or datura? ;)
Man, this thread has gone way off the FB map. Lessee if I can throw in a little zen-related Blackness:
From the Frank Black Song Index: "I Gotta Move" SUBJECT: A song for two guys who worked on the late 70's cult flim by David Lynch, Eraserhead, both meeting tragic ends: Jack Nance (the leading actor in the moive) and Peter Ivers (who wrote the music and sang "In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song)," a tune that Pixies fans are no doubt familiar with).
"Peter Ivers was a singer/songwriter, performance artist who wrote "In Heaven (The Lady in the Radiator Song)" from David Lynch's film 'Eraserhead'. He hosted the TV show 'New Wave Theatre' wearing outlandish clothing and spouting intellectual Zen Buddhist philosophy in between the punk bands, asking them questions like "What is the meaning of life?" instead of "Tell us about your latest recording." He came off a bit smug, so the bands tended to hate him, but his peaceful rantings lent an interesting yin to the extreme violent yang of the music on the show. New Wave Theatre came to an end when Ivers was bludgeoned to death in his home in downtown L.A. The murderer has never been caught, though many suspect it must have been a member of a band who had appeared on the show and got pissed off at Iver's hippy-dippy questions."
and I may be kicking an obvious horse in the mouth, but the untimely ending of poor Jack Nance is illuminated there as well (just in case no one has read about that) http://members.cox.net/fbsi/jacknance.html
hmm. Starting to worry that keeping up this thread may be dangerous. ;)

ACTUALLY -FB being a lynch fan and a film buff (dance the jacque tati) would validate this as general frank black chat.

I can't really say how similar On the Air is to UHF as I haven't seen it in donkey's years. I remember it being very silly and a kid spits in Weird Al's face! Thanks for the info on 'Gotta Move', very interesting.
