Call me ignorant, but does anyone know the story regarding Frank Black's personal connection to the Strand/ South Bay/ Hermosa Beach heard numerous times through out many of his songs?

Just kidding. No, actually I don't. I would imagine it's simply one of the places he's been to and is familiar with.

are there other's besides "everything is new" and "ed is dead"? just curious.

yeah, i don't know the exact connection.. but i know Frank grew up in the South Bay for a good part of his childhood.. so i'm sure he's familiar with Hermosa.

i don't think he lived in Hermosa.. i seem to remember him mentioning Harbor City. plus, he went to Narbonne High School, which is in Harbor City, so that would make sense.

he lived in the East Coast and West Coast, but when he was on West Coast i think it was the Harbor City / Lomita area..
