However, the text (by Mark Bennett) follows (it also asks you to comment about the album/Mark's review, as well as listen to a few tracks):
Any Pixies fan will be able to pinpoint the exact moment when they realised it was all over. Of course, the band’s split after 1991’s Trompe Le Monde should have been a fair indication, but not for me. It wasn’t until the messy demise of The Breeders and Frank Black’s forgotten (by me) Cult of Ray in 1995 that I finally accepted that they were gone forever.
Now, having managed to rebuild my life, I’m writing a review of the New Frank Black (and The Catholics) album amid rumours of a Pixies reunion. This is going to set me back years.
Show Me Your Tears is Black’s ninth album since 1993 and solid evidence that while some of us still haven’t faced up to life without his old band, Black certainly has.
A prolific work rate and a no-fuss way of getting things done (the album was recorded live to two-track) make for a spirited, unsentimental run through these 13 tracks, which range from swampy blues like Nadine and New House of the Pope, gloom-tinged rock like My Favourite Kiss and Jaina Blues, pathos-ridden country in Horrible Day (“It’s a beautiful day/No, it’s a horrible day” – fantastic!) and Goodbye Lorraine, classic Pixies-esque – only esque, mind – weirdness (Massif Centrale and This Old Heartache) and … well, isn’t that enough?
Throughout, there is a feeling that Black has been through some genuinely tough times of late, but by the magnificent Coastline and Manitoba, it’s clear he’s not beaten yet.
I suppose it’s unlikely that Tears Of Joy will confound the wider public’s expectations as it has mine, but I doubt it matters to Frank Black. The Pixies reunion probably won’t happen and anyway, who really cares? I just feel slightly guilty that I lost contact with old Frank.
Now, where’s that copy of Cult Of Ray?

Got the cd today, can't wait to get home, have a drink, kick back and listen to the album whilst getting some PS2 action. I'll be finally able to put in my views about the album and whether it is as good as alot of people are making out.
