A couple of short reviews:

- From The Profile:
"The lead singer of one of the most influential bands of all time has got back together with The Catholics for another swing at the big time and pulls off some stunning little pieces. Show Me Your Tears is a million miles away from any of the Pixies material and a hell of a lot more mellow. Everything Is Now is the epitome of this mellow vibe and is a great track to listen to accompanied by a glass of Jack Daniels. Nadine sounds heartfelt, yet slightly depressing, (that’s what you get for writing tracks about women!) and Massif Centrale is the highlight of what is a very competent LP. He’s still got it, not many people who are in a similar position to Frank could still pull out great albums. It goes to show that with some people, talent never goes away."

- From inc.com:
"Former Pixie Frank Black turns in a tight 12-song collection that rocks, rolls, and occasionally strolls. If the Pixies were arty surf punk, the Catholics are brainy rockabilly, full of hollow guitars and tinkly pianos. Black's vocal dynamism and flair for melody take you places you haven't been. Rowan West"
