How much are you expecting to get? How big is the poster? Hopefully you wont jack up the price too much because of the ink that Frank put on it.

I have the same poster signed from the same store BUT - there is a coffee stain on the bottom of it from Frank Black's own coffee!

I've got three DITS promo posters from W.A.R? signed by Frank. The best place to do this Black Rider is on Ebay. You'll get way more $. But why would you even WANT to sell this poster?

This is why people like Frank dont want to sign things. I dont blame them.

Dallas...I agree...however the dollar rules...and artists understand. BUT as a fan...I AGREE. I have a bunch of stuff signed by all kinds of people...I would never part with it! Others however, are business minded. In theory the selling of items worthless are to others priceless. In business, it really is up for grabs...posessions ARE marked by money. And that is OKAY. I'm sure Frank would pay some bizarre amount of money for something he deems worthy. Don't judge the traveling man for his elixers. GO TO EBAY!!!

I understand business and your point Trans, but, what is the gain? Literally, on ebay you may get $5-10 for a poster or whatever. For that $, leave the man alone. |

i collect autographs and sometimes its necessary to buy them. a friend of mine got franks autograph for me when she was at a gig in the US. sometimes you dont get into a situation where you can obtain an autograph. theres nothing wrong with it, in my opinion.

I have a friend who spent hundreds of pounds getting Al Pacinos autograph.... why the fuck would you want to spend that amount of money on an ink scribble. Fairplay, if I saw Frank up close I'd pobably ask him for his autograph but paying money for it is absurd if you ask me.

i really just wanted to see how this board would react to my posting. i consider myself a pretty big frank black fan, but after i got that promo poster signed, i realized i had little value for it. in fact, i think black would agree as well. why would i value something just because he signed it? i did enjoyed the in-store performance, and i was excited to meet frank and our short exchange about last night's performance and the black cat. but to tell you the truth his signature on a free promo poster doesn't mean much to me.
TRANSMARINE, why do you think black doesn't like to sign things.
El Barto, i think you were in front of me in line. i remember see the whole coffee stain exchange. |

BR, I think you have confused me with Dallas. I've never had a problem with Frank signing anything.

Wow, what are the odds? That's pretty cool...I did talk to him very briefly and mentioned the AP and fb.net and he sorta blew me off...that really upset me.

Yeah, that would suck. Don't know that I'd mention the Tribute Album if I met him again. If I did I'd probably lie and say I was Tim or something. :) |

How much do you think I can get for Frank's dirty shorts? Any takers? I will have to charge an extra $20 for the ones with lots of skid marks. |

Honestly though, I have my doolittle vinyl cover singed by all of the Pixies circa 1989. Black even scribbled something in spanish for me, how much do you think I can get for that? Not that I would part with it but....... |

AbstractPlain, the FB mailing list. I don't remember 100% exactly, but I was like "Hi, remember me from last night? I'm with the Bennies. I run the AbstractPlain and co-maintain fb.net. I just wanted to say hi and thanks for making such an impact on me" or some shit like that, and he just kinda stared at me and was like "oh ok" or something. It really sucked. But later that night backstage he was in The Bennies dressing room alone talking on his cell, and I went down to get my jacket. This one crazy ass girl that got backstage somehow like was trying to talk to him or something while he was on the phone and he was pissed and told her he was busy. I snuck past and grabbed my coat and he was like "I know *you're* supposed to be here...how'd she get back here?" and i was like "I have nooo idea." That was pretty cool, cause he remembered me.

When my friend and I saw him on in Cinci. for an in-store and asked him for a pic, he ran from behind the counter and squeezed us so tight around the waist, I thought I would faint. But later, after the show that night, he had on a shirt that said 'we cheat drunks and tourists', so it was pretty clear he didn't want to be bothered. When he's working, it's best to leave him alone. But back to the subject, I think his autographed stuff will be worth much more when he runs for President, so save it. |
