I think BELLY had the best record packaging ever. Especially the STAR album and the singles from it; the stuff around the time of KING wasn't as good. Does anyone have the BEST OF BELLY? What does the booklet look like? i know that Tanya wries about each song. Is there a place on the web where the inside pictures are scanned ( I've been to eyesore and Chris Gorman's site)?
Most of v23's work for 4AD gets my eyes feeling deluxe. For me at least they add so much to the listening experience. They just work so well with the lyrics and the sound It's nice to see when a designer has obviously taken the music as a starting point when considering how to present a record, rather than just using the standard arty band photographs.
yeah the cover of Belly's "now they'll sleep" single has been my current desktop background for a few months now. i don't have that cd or anything, but it's just an awesome picture. the first belly LP is really good.. talking about the music now.. but the cover's good too.
I had that one up for awhile. If you ever get a chance, that's a good cd single to get- NOW THEY'LL SLEEP is one of the best songs off KING and it's got a great song called BABY'S ARM which is one of their best songs ever. I just got my first computer a year and a half ago and you should've seen when I found out that you could take any picture and make it the desktop. I probably spent the whole day trying new pictures. Eyesore is great for that. Probably the best looking desktop picture was the LAST SPLASH cover.
