As a teaser, three Pixies songs on the list, plus Cannonball, and the inevitable Nirvana at the top. Each song listed comes with a paragraph about it. This site is on my daily visit list. You should check it out.

I don't know... I was generally dissappointed with their top 100. I can't blame them on the Nirvana count, though. Sure, the Pixies did it first and (in my opinion, as this is subjective) best, but Nirvana reached far more people and therefore had more influence. But there's no way that at least one Pixies song isn't on the top 10. The question is, which one would YOU put there. I was thinking that Gouge Away would probably be the one I put there, not necessarily because it's the best of my favourite, but because it epitomizes the Pixies. Then again, there's no vocals by Kim, though she does the bass line which is the focus of the song. Still, maybe Caribou? Debaser's not a bad choice either.

Did you notice that on "Where is my mind" and "Debaser" they referred to the front man of the Pixies as "Frank Black"?

That's a clever subliminal ploy to boost sales for Show Me Your Tears. Thanks again, critics.

Nothing is ever something.

THIS ONE IS, IN FACT, WORSE. AT LEAST IN OTHER LISTS, THEY MAKE A SMALL ATTEPMT TO TRY AND INCLUDE A BROADER VIEW....THERE ARE MANY BANDS OUT THERE IN THE ANNALS OF ROCK HISTORY....FOCUSING MORE ONE ERA IS OUTRIGHT JACKASSERY.

If you didn't notice, focusing on one era was kind of the point of the list.

Nothing is ever something.
