I didn't see hannibal. But I saw red dragon and i liked it. silence of the lambs was better. But with sequels it's hard to beat out the first anyway. Ed Norton is cool and at least Anthony Hopkins is still playing Hannibal. I'd give "Red Dragon" 80,000 stars (out of 100,000).

haha the only problem i saw with it is that its kinda too similar to the original. in that we find hannibal being asked for advice again but still being weird as ever, and instead of escaping hes caught. its still a pretty interesting moving none the less... that whole "love" scene with the blind girl and the psycho killer was great haha, so freaky

oh, silence of the lambs, yeah i always forget about manhunter and of course that makes the use of original really ambiguous.

Saw it last night.
I hated:
1) Phillip Seymour Hoffman's version of Freddy Lounds 2) Harvey Keitel for being utterly mis-cast and given the worst direction! 3) The "feel" of it.
Dammit, anyone who read the book knew that Manhunter should have been DARKER, the scenes should have had more contrast between them. Even the set designers did a bad job for god's sake!.
This was positively candy floss.
To think that you then go from all the "grainy" feel of Silence is just silly.
I think most of the problems start from the piss poor director and get worse from there.
