Dear Y'all,
Am practically peeing my pants since next Weekend I'll be in Vermont and will finally get to meet Tanya Donelly, Dean Fisher and Rich Gilbert!
Tanya D. has confirmed his attendence on Slumberland (www.tanyadonelly.com), & I wanted to share this with people who would possibly understand.
Also thinking if anyone had any questions I could put to him please add them here and I'll do my best for you!
Is anyone here attending?
Oh, and i have a 6 hour stop over at Lester Airport in Toronto - if anyone can suggest a great time killer please let me know...
6 days and counting...

Is that the Tanya D/Kristen H show? man i wish i could see that. can you post a review or just some thoughts afterwards, please.
a great time killer in an airport is to start reading something epic, like lord of the rings, you can find it in most airport bookshops too, which is handy.
Look outhoney cos i'm using technology |

Leah, LBP Airport in Toronto is actually only about 30-40 mins from downtown TO where there are all manner of cool things. Besides the touristy stuff (CN Tower- world's tallest freestanding structure) and that, there are a lot of interesting things, but it depends what you're into. Probably someone living there could help more, but I'd definitely recommend getting out of the airport since it's not all that far from anything. |

Air Canada has laid off many employees. Beware of slowdowns and work stoppages. Getting to downtown T.O is too far to have any fun in only six hours. There is not much at the airport as they are in the process of building a new terminal. Chaos! If you can leave the airport try and stay within a half-hour. The Playdium in Mississauga is a nice time killer. It is only about fifteen minutes from the airport at Square One shopping mall. Check it out if you can. It is childish fun but a nice time filler. There are a couple of decent bars along Airport Road. Nothing fantastic all pretty run of the mill. Good luck, enjoy the airport and especially enjoy the show in Vermont.

So I did get to meet the man!
He was wicked awesome man!
Turns out he's familiar with this site!
Spent about 20 minutes bending his ear about lord only knows what and then got very conflicted since Kristin Hersh was on stage and I was like "kristin or rich, kristin or rich"
...Kristin won out in the end cos I started to think I was getting duller by the second anyways...

Right so story goes that I'm hanging around this ghetto motel and Tanya Donelly comes over and tells me she can't play either of the two songs I requested.
So I then look like a kid who saw her ice-cream hit the floor and my next question is "PLEASE tell me Rich Gilberts coming tomorrow?..."
So she assures me that he is and I ask if she'll play the bees for me - which she does and I utterly choke - anyway...
So the running order the following day is Blake Hazard * john Dragonetti, Josh Ritter, The Stone Coyotes, Juliana Hatfield, Kristin Hersh & Tanya.
Half way through Juliana's set I have a small hissy fit and sulk off for a ciggie saying to my roomie that perhaps mr. Gilbert is not here after all.
I slouch outside to get some clean fresh nicotine and my pal shoves me in the direction of Rich Gilbert...
So 30 minutes, conversation topics and boundless adulation later he agreed to ask Charles to play I will run to you at the Edinburgh show since it'll be my birthday and all.
There you go.

Not had the chance to do anything much since the last post on this. Life's a wee bit hectic since I got back from VT then had to find another job(management mongoloids managed to lose the Account)
Have found new job which flowed exactly on; so instead of being mentally strung out instead I'm financially challenged - yay!.
