I was wondering, in album order which two (or more) songs do you think flow well from one to the other?

Lately I've been fond of True Blue -> Jane the Queen of Love. I think it's the simple yet sad or wanting vocals of True Blue into the balladesque music and vocals of Jane the Queen of Love starting out with nothing but acoustic guitar, tempo rises, slightly reminiscent of St. Francis Dam Disaster in how instruments gradually include themselves in the music, eventually making the feel of this song even stronger than its sparse beginnings following a seemingly simple tune. The buildup releases and presents vocals with the a different sound but similar feeling of the end of True Blue, then follows a gradual slowdown.

Okay, I'm getting ferklempt, discuss amongst yourselves.

Teenager is full of great songs, so it's hard to tell exactly which segues are the best. Usually the ones that take the tempo of the prior song and build upon it, like Bad, Wicked World–Pie In the Sky, or, of course Whatever Happened To Pong–Thallasocracy

I like that lemur, I lick it. That's velvety!

i dunno if this counts, but when i first got trompe le monde, i thought that palcace of the brine and letter to memphis were just one long song with a funny chane in the middle. this will always be my favorite, because it actually tromped me.

CZAR>OLD BLACK DAWNING.....i find myself thinking about that segue from time to time. In Fact, i think that this segue may contribute to the appeal of the album.

Lots of great segues in every Frank album, even in FB&TC which is alphabetically-ordered though (ie All My Ghosts/Back To Rome).
I love Parry/Adda Lee, Speedy Marie/Headache/Sir Rockaby/Freedom Rock/Two Reelers/Fiddle Riddle, and all the songs of BLD. I think they're perfectly following each other, which makes it ver hard to stop the record before it finishes.

I totally agree.... Bad Wicked World - Pie in the Sky is great. Also when I first got the Black Sessions (before I got Teenager) I thought Whatever / Thallasocracy were one song.

On Trompe le Monde I like the way Planet of Sound goes into Alec Eifel.

War....... Its not fantastic

Lots of good ones already posted, so I'll throw in Bone Machine/Break My Body for an older one. And another good rocker would be ..Starting to Lose It / I Want R&R.

Nice topic. I'd probably say off mine comes off of Teenager of the Year. I also agree it comes between Hostest With the Mostest and Superabound. But I also think like the transition between Speedy Marie and Headache.

Since I'm pretty bored though I'll just keep myself occupied by naming some other ones from his other albums.

Surfer Rosa-- Tony's Theme (though not my favorite song) and Oh My Golly!

Bossanova-- Blown Away and Hang Wire; Stormy Weather and Havalina

Well, that's all I could think of off the top of my head. I know theres some good segues on the Catholics albums, but nothing standout is coming to mind at this point. Plus, I named too many already.

No, I just thought it would be funny to point out that the creator first called it "IT" and when it was released it was called "SHT".

I did see a cop rolling around in one last week in NYC. That looked funny.

From an engineering perspective, I find it somewhat interesting. I'd certainly like to try it, though I don't see my laziness ever escalating to the point that I'd buy one when I'm perfectly able to walk. It's not like I have any serious medical problem that would require it's use...

Dear brothers-and-sisters-in-Frank:
well i have been reading your choices, minew are when i want to introduce this music to any heretic
for pixies i like: Velouria, where is my mind o gigantic
for Frank: true blue (Mi favorita) thalassocracy or western star ano also modern ages
o take there refrences to show Frank as a master in ballads, also is easy to ranslate to spanish and i like to let people know also what can he say in a song, thalass or western star to show another extreme that he can make the srongest musica available and modern ages, i like also the lyrics, because
i love folk and good country as johnny cash ( i remember listening Rock Island Line at 4)
but i was also very suprised with pan-american highway
well my player recovers ramly my music from my hadr drive,I am 39 so I try to have half of beattles music yn my head as frank, but each time that a pixies or frank song sounds I enjoy it the same

I thought that same exact thing at first too. Sometimes it still tricks me but I have to remind myself they are two different songs.

I love the transition from Jane the Queen of Love to Jet Black River. The drums on the slow outro of the first stop gently and then JBR sets in with the same drum sound but refreshened or something.
