| and the whole lower-cased letter thing? I've noticed that a whole bunch of you absolutely never capitalize when you type. Does it have any special significance or are you just lazy? Is that shift key as difficult to manipulate as a toilet seat? Just curious. (i mean, just curious.) |

It's funny you mention this because I spilled juice on my keyboard the other night, and the right shift key is sticking a little. So lately I tend to not bother with capital letters. I know there is another shift key but I never have used it cuz I type weird I guess. Of course I used all proper capitals for this post to show how awesome I am.

I tend to shift sometimes. I usually use proper punctuation and grammar. No caps is weird...sometimes I do no caps. I get lazy I guess. The worst is when someone uses NO fucking punctuation and POOR grammar. I have been saying "fuck" a fucking lot lately.

yeah its not that hard to insert commas and periods and semicolons in your posts it pisses me off come on people learn to write properly its not that hard to insert commas and periods

I don't capitalize 'i' (unless it's/i'm at the beginning of a sentence) in a sad display of my humility. Tho i'll capitalize my name. Hmm. I really don't think 'i' needs to be capitalized, regardless.
Otherwise i think think i have fine typing skills. =) |

in all seriousness, i think its mainly because message boards are supposed to be very informal. you're not typing your resume, but telling a dumb joke or flaming someone.
thats what i think anyway.

I think the fact of the matter is that lower-cased, shift-be-damned typing styles are supposed to be more relaxed. Like a post on this board. Or an IM conversation. Or an e-mail to a close friend. I don't think the habit is gender-specific at all.
One thing I always capitalize, even in "relaxed-mode" typing, is people's names. It just doesn't seem right to not. |

Everything is so relaxed these days and I think it is sad. I am all for grammar skills and using capitals! Although I agree that ALL CAPITALS is scary. I have a friend who does that and I always think "Why is he yelling at me?"
